“Nice hotel, great room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014 via mobile

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room service was good and prompt and the room had everything we needed. In addition, the bed was amazingly comfortable! This hotel is very much cared for and everything is in great condition. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel while attending my niece's wedding at Graydon Hall Manor. This hotel is conveniently located and offers good rates for wedding parties, if booked in advance. The reception staff were courteous and welcoming. Rooms were comfortable and well appointed. They provide ironing facilities though the pressing iron in my room was not cleaned thoroughly and stained my shirt. I also obtained a complimentary sewing kit for a quick mend. Staff serving breakfast were good and handled my nagging aunt with grace and great professionalism. This was a very enjoyable stay and was great value for money.

We stayed at this Westin this summer...just outside of downtown. Easy to find from the Don Mills Parkway and the rooms were great.
Hot tub was a little outdated but the workout room and the pool were fine.
Highly recommend the breakfast buffet in the morning down in the main lobby restaurant

The lobby, grounds and entrance to this hotel is pristine. Great atmosphere in the lobby where there is a bar and a piano playing in the background (Saturday night), always events being held so the hotel always has people buzzing around. Get out of elevator though on room floor (15) and the carpet is old and coming up from the walls (in line with what I would expect from some dodgy 2 star no-name place on a highway between Thunder Bay and Kenora. The room (which was supposed to be an upgrade because they screwed up our reservation due to computer issues) was severely lacking. The basics were fine, the room was clean, the bed was a Queen and had a duvet and was comfortable, large flat screen tv and the bathroom was well appointed. But this is 2014 and this is the basic standard you get from any 'aloft' or 'novotel' property. The carpet and furnishing were old, ugly and out of date. The room would have been fine for $100 but not the $200 they seem to expect. Room service menu is minimal considering there are two restaurants on the property and when we ordered we were told it would be 20 minutes and took over an hour. Parking is $12 which considering this place is in the middle of nowhere is ridiculous. Wifi is paid but then took us over an hour to download a movie from iTunes. Overall it is OK, but far from what we normally get from a Westin property.

Room Tip: Don't get the 'upgraded' Queen if you already had booked a traditional King, we can'...

Location is good, reasonable parking, clean room. Recommended.

If you want to avoid parking when going downtown (e.g. if going to the Haunted Walk Tour, or Eaton's Center) - drive to the York Mills subway station, park at the attached parking lot and take the subway south.

Lots of food options within walking distance. Note that if you like Chinese buffets, the Dragon Pearl is a short walk across the street and is the best Chinese buffet in Toronto with great price/value.

Stayed for 4 nights on July 4. Room was clean and updated, hotel was clean and nice scenery/decor. Room was quiet and bed was very comfortable. Good selection of restaurants across the road and decent food in hotel as well, though it was a bit expensive. Was not happy to have to pay extra for internet access, especially after it worked for free for first couple nights. Was not happy that they lacked corporate discount for my company. I would stay here again if it was close to my destination.

Victag,
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay however are saddened to read that you felt the value was average. We understand and respect your thoughts on the internet fees charged in our guestrooms. Over the past year we have introduced complimentary Wi-Fi service in our main lobby and restaurant and we believe this is a small step in the right direction. We hope we see you staying with us in the future and if requiring any assistance please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Stayed at the WESTIN for 3 nights on business. Super friendly staff, quick room service and I took advantage of the "green" program they have. You get a $5. coupon to be used against a meal during your stay if you opt out of room maintenance. Beds are super comfortable, room is clean and spacious. The only thing I would say that needs updating is their AC because when it goes on, it does a weird squeaky sound and it actually sounds like someone is entering your room! Secondly, the bathroom was tiny. Not the end of the world for either. I'll be back.
