“Great Stay - Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2010

We stayed at the hotel July 5-8th, while we were attending a Shriners Conventation. We had no issues with housekeeping, room was spotless and cleaned very early each day. No noise in the hallways at anytime. There was a major power failure in the Toronto area on July 5 due to the heat, etc. The staff provided a buffet and flavoured water for guests until the power was restored. The concierge provided great information on using the subway. We ate breakfast at the Waterfront Deli across the street, for 5.99, a full breakfast, they also had bakery goods, etc as well there is another deli next to this where you can buy bakery and take out items if you wish. The restaurant in the hotel is rather pricey. Free WIFI would have been nice. We were wishing they had an outdoor pool, because of the heat, indoor pool doesn't cut it in summer. Location of the hotel was in walking distance to St Lawrence Market, Air Canada Center,Rogers Centre, Union Station where you can catch the subway. We took the subway to see Jersey Boys up in North York. We took a Hop on Hop Off tour of the city (located outside the Westin), excellent as well a boat tour of Toronto Islands was included. This hotel does cater to meetings/conventions, so know this. It is a perfect location to attend an event at the Air Canada Center, Rogers Center, etc.

Very beautiful for a conference. Rooms are spacious and what you'd be expected.

Nickle and dime though for everything...internet, phone calls, etc.

I just hate paying hundreds for a room and then being told it's $20 for internet, phone calls, etc when any best western or holiday inn offers all the extras incl. for the price of the room.

This is a good hotel right on the lake. It is also a 5-10 minute walk to all the offices/banks. The hotel staff is quite helpful. The restaurant on the top floor offers good views of the city. The bar in the hotel lobby is quite happening as well during evenings.

Great atmosphere, fantastic service from staff and overall attention to detail- our “Leaf” home away from home. Thank you valet team for your quick action and getting my vehicle groomed.

In 1987, the Toronto Hilton Harbour Castle became the Toronto Westin Harbour Castle, and the Toronto Westin became the Toronto Hilton. In an instance, the centrally located Westin was moved from its prime downtown location to a lakefront location. Gone was the quick access to Toronto’s heart. In its place, a soaring twin tower hotel overlooking Lake Ontario was borne just south of the Gardiner Expressway and the railway tracks that serve Toronto’s Union Station. Though the hotel has excellent access to the harbour front’s many amenities, it’s location away from the main shopping and entertainment areas might frazzle some.

The hotel is typical of a Westin. The hotel’s spacious and contemporary lobby welcomes guests upon their arrival. Guest rooms are located in both the south and north towers. South facing rooms have beautiful views of Lake Ontario and the Toronto Islands, which are accessible by the ferryboats that depart from just behind the hotel. North facing rooms have wonderful views of Toronto’s CN Tower, the Rogers Centre (Skydome), the soaring steel and glass pinnacles of the financial districts. The contemporary styled guest rooms are done in earthly shades of taupe and brown with accents of green. Bathrooms echo the same style and colours. A large wall-to-wall window embraces each room. And of course, the Heavenly Bed, which feels like sleeping on a cloud.

The hotel only offers valet parking at $40 per night. Off-street parking is available off site for $25 per night.

I love the `Westin` but do wish that this one were located in a more central location.

We make many trips to Toronto staying at various hotels depending on what we have planned. The purpose of this trip was to see the incredible Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) THE WALL musical extravaganza at the Air Canada Centre evening of Sept. 16 and celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. The Westin Harbour Castle is really close by a short walk away. It's perfect for any events at the Air Canada Centre (including hockey games).

We booked a waterview room and it's definitely worth paying more for. We are Starwood Hotel members and always ask for a higher floor, quiet location. Our King bed room was perfect with gorgeous views of Lake Ontario and the Toronto Islands.

They have less expensive special self-parking about a block away. When we arrived it was raining, so we decided to spoil ourselves and use the Valet Parking - well worth it.

We haven't stayed at this hotel before so after checking in, we went exploring. We met Vicki a Customer Service manager who was so friendly and helpful. She gave us information about dining at the hotel and other features. We ended up using all the dining areas. The Lobby Cafe for drinks and appetizer. Toula Restaurant & Bar (Italian & International cusine) on the top floor for dinner. Spectacular panoramic views of Lake Ontario and downtown Toronto. Here we were treated to their fabulous home-made Tiramasu dessert (anniversary gift).

After the concert at the Air Canada Centre, we returned to the hotel for a nightcap at the Lobby Cafe. When we returned to our room, there was a card from Vicki congratulating us on our anniverary and inviting us for a complimentary buffet breakfast in The Mizzen restaurant (value $25/person). Next morning was a gorgeous sunny day and we walked off our delicious breakfast with a long walk along the waterfront.

We were there only one night but were treated like VIP's all the way. We would definitely return to The Westin Harbour Castle again!

We had a room facing the Bay with glorious sunshine. The hotel is situated between Bay and Yonge Streets. It is a 30 minute walk to the Entertainment Section. What sets this area aside is during the weekends you can Purchase a subway pass for $10.00 for a one day pass for up to 6 People to use public transportation eg. streetcars, busses, subways. You can do this at Union Square station which is a 10 minute walk to Front Street.
I have to compliment the hotel management since we had an incident involving our room the second night. The manager of the hotel and maintenance person appeared at our door after our phone complaint within 5 minutes. Right away they told us to pack and they would send a bell man to take us to a new room. Little did we know we would be upgraded to the 35th floor to a large suite reserved for celebrity status. It was as large as an apartment. Kudos for taking care of your patrons
I suggest when you go to take a look around if you are on a budget for Breakfast. The area does have a cafe just down from the hotel going West on Harbor Street quite reasonable. Also right a across the street is the Waterfront Deli that offers $5.99 Breakfast. Not fancy by a long shot but if does the trick.
I found parking simple enough. Just use the self part for $25.00 night which is an enclosed lot. I think Valet is just too expensive at $40.00 a night.
The Westin comes as advertised with their comfort beds and the double shower heads. We had a chance also to use the pool area on the fifth floor that was really nice. Large pool and whirlpool. very enjoyable.
I would definitely return.
