“Will stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Have stayed here before. Arrived Friday at 7:30 pm for a Saturday conference. Had called ahead to confirm Starwood desk would be opened, to pay for upgrade, to ensure working frig in room, to ensure full size truck would fit in parking garage, and to confirm driving directions around hotel as there is construction everywhere.
Disappointed Starwood desk was closed when arrived. Fortuneately only 3 groups ahead of me. Have difficulty standing for long periods. Major line up when I left front desk. No place to sit while waiting. Initially room cards did not work in the fitness room. Had to be reissued. Problematic as they wanted id. It was left in the room, as there are no lockers available in the fitness room. The clerk offered to slip the new cards under our door. But since she had already taken our old cards, had to point out then we would have no way to get into our room. Eventually got the keys and was set for our stay. No working frig in the room, had to call front desk and have one delivered as had special dietary items that needed to be kept cool.

Club floor room on 42nd and lounge on 43rd floor made this stay wonderful. Beds amazing as always. Had a swim and hot tub when it opened at 6 am. Towels at pool only Would have been nice to be able to briefly turn on the overhead heaters to take the chill off. No attendant in fitness area. Club Lounge Breakfast was adequate. Cheese or some protein would have been good. 4pm late check out from room -- allowed to time to freshen up during day.

Went immediately into conference. Willow room is not good for disabled, as the bathrooms are down a couple of stairs and small elevator is a distance from the washrooms. This was awkward for those in our group using walkers, or who had balance issues. We also had a display room on the lower level.

Would stay here again-- close to eaton center, restuarants, connected to underground pathway, and close to entertainment district. Easy to park at the city hall parking lot and walk almost directly into Sheraton. Parking was $12 for less than 24 hours weekend = bargain. thanks to everyone's comments here-- your suggestions made our trip

everything for the city.

Only one thing missing - that is the Bistro on 2. Went to have breakfast and it had gone. The nicest place to have breakfast - relaxing with good food and service.

Sorry, do not like having breakfast in the lobby breakfast/restaraunt/sportsbar - not relaxing, I sat waiting for breakfast feeling uncomfortable - not nice.

Please bring the Bistro back.

Love the pool and outside space.

A great hotel in downtown Toronto. Rooms are generously spacious. Beds are comfortable. Location is one of the best you can get in Toronto. Close to the city hall and few walks away from the largest shopping centre in downtown Toronto, Eaton Centre. There is under passage way connected the hotel to many buildings in downtown Toronto, which means... you don't have to freeze walking outside during wintertime! :) I've been staying in many different hotels across the world but I honestly think that the fitness centre at this hotel is amazing. It has pretty good equipments and quite comprehensive too. The pool is outstanding, separated both indoor and outdoor. Obviously a plus aspect to this hotel.

However, there is always room for improvement no matter how great a hotel can be. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom can be better. I found few pieces of a long hair on the tub and walls. That is not something you wanna see of course knowing you have a short hair... which means it's coming from the previous guests staying in that particular room. I understand the speed a housekeeping should clean the room as the flow of guests checking in and out is generally fast, but cleanliness standard is not something to be compromised.

All in all, it is one great stay, and looking forward to coming back.

Large hotel in downtown Toronto. Rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. Quick check-in via the SPG line. They were handing out bottled water to guests as they waited in the regular line. One day had to call for towels and they were delivered promptly.

Food was good in hotel restaurants. Easy walk to other city restaurants.

Nice stat.

Great location; good views of Lake Ontario on front of hotel. I stayed here for a conference at the conference rate. The full rate would have been excessive for a mid-range hotel, though clean hotel. The beds were very comfortable; good air handling and good sound attenuation. Most staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff not so.

I recently stayed at the Sheraton as I was attending a conference. I had the conference rate of $159. This is a very large hotel and hosts many conferences and is linked to an underground system with many shops and restaurants. The hotel itself has a steakhouse which I did not try and a pub type restaurant which has good pub style food however service is slow and we waited for 45 minutes for simple entrees and the pub was about 1/2 full. I had a room with 2 queen beds on the 6th floor facing Queen St. The room was clean and spacious with a large bath. The hotel had already switched its system from heating to a/c so my room was freezing and I tried to control it through th room thermastat which did not work. An engineer came and told me I could not get heat but brough a plug in heater which put out a small amount of warmth-after it was on for 6 hours the temperature rose .5 degrees. The beds were very comfortable with good quality sheets and comforter. The windows were not think and the street noise from the steetcar, sirens and people partying prevented getting much sleep. If considering this hotel make sure to ask for the high floor. There are many choices at smaller hotels which I feel are better options for that price.

Room Tip: High floor to avoid street noise.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you found us a little on the cold side. With the temperature fluctuating at this time of year, it becomes hard to completely regulate the perfect temperature in rooms.

I stayed here for a conference and it is a large hotel, adequately located and clean. The hotel's BnB restaurant is definitely overpriced and the service was slow but the food was good. The rooms in the higher floors have an astounding view of the city so it's best if you can stay on 30 or above. For comparison, I've previously stayed at the Delta Chelsea Toronto which was, at least comparing these two stays, a lower price for the same quality of rooms and better service.
