“An elegant hotel in a perfect location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

The hotel is lovely with that rarest of features - windows that open to allow some fresh air in. The bed linens are lovely and the rooms are a very nice size. I was there with a YMCA Canada meeting so we had most meals in meeting rooms. The food was terrific and the service was very professional. I had a dinner and a breakfast in the restaurant Annono. The service was wonderful and the lobster mac'n'cheese at dinner was delectable! Staff all over the hotel are friendly and helpful. The only thing I could suggest to improve the experience would be in-room coffee pots. However there is a complementary coffee station in the lobby and there is a Second Cup attached that opens at 6 weekdays.

It was a pleasure having you with us! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Your kind words have been passed on to our team and your compliments shared with our Executive Chef. Side note: I agree, the Lobster Mac & Cheese is delectable and remains a favourite of mine as well.

5* hotel in the best part of town. Walking distance to the high end shops and lots of restaurants. We have pleasantly stayed in this hotel numerous times. And when in Toronto we will surely come stay here again. The staff was very helpful. The best part of our stay was enjoying the Rooftop lounge with a great view of the city. The concierge booked our restaurant one evening and offered us a towncar (for free) to take us to our dinner reservations. Very classy!

We had a fabulous weekend getaway at the Park Hyatt. This is an excellent hotel in a great location. The well trained staff is exceptionally polite, helpful and attentive including the manager, concierge staff, front desk, doorman and restaurant staff. Everyone bent over backwards to make our stay wonderful. The spacious room was beautiful, well appointed and immaculate. This will definitely be our "go to" hotel in Toronto.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the North Tower.

Had I not had a room on the 17th floor the rating would have been probably a 4; however, my room was directly under the rooftop bar and lounge and on weekend nights it sounded like the ceiling was about to cave in on me, bass lines made everything in the room shake and at times I knew exactly what songs were being played for the elephants dancing upstairs. I had a 4:00am wake up call my final night and finally decided (since the private party went on until 1:00am) I should just stay awake. Called the front desk but I guess not much they could/would do.

Room Tip: Lower floors MUST be better

This was an EXCELLENT Hotel. From the minute we arrived until we left the Service was all around Superb. Everyone was Very Efficient, Polite,Friendly and Helpful. The restaurant was Fantastic.
Our room was Quiet! and Very Clean. The Location was Great. Very close to subway. Our favourite Coffe Shop-Second Cup was attached to the Hotel:) The only negative thing was there was no coffee pot in the room to make a cup of tea of coffee before leaving our room

I stayed at the Park Hyatt for 3 nights and it was incredible. My room was super spacious and clean. One of my colleagues remarked how quiet it was the next day and I have to agree - probably the quietest hotel I've been too. Might just be sheer luck for the days I was there but I didn't even hear doors closing. The service was impeccable. Housekeeping comes in the evening too without even asking! And I love that everyone was wearing poppies ( I came near Halloween). One of my favourite places was the rooftop bar. Great cozy atmosphere and the bartenders are very kind and friendly without the sleeze. Food was amazing too - we had breakfast and lunch there every day and it was very healthy and delicious. I hope to stay here again in the near future!!!

This is a nice property with a great location and good service. All things considered, I would stay here again at the right price knowing now that in my opinion this is no longer a five star hotel. We choose this property over the Four Seasons because we thought the two hotels were (relatively speaking) comparable. Despite similar pricing, they are not. The Park Hyatt has a better location than the Four Seasons but otherwise the hotel in general and the rooms in particular are showing their age. The bed and bedding are mediocre, the furnishings are tired, the pipes rattled incredibly when taking a hot shower, there was no connector for an I-Phone 5 (and none provided even after a request was made), and there were rust stains in the toilet bowl. Also, there was a very noisy convention group at the hotel making it difficult to sleep and not consistent with the relaxing getaway that we were looking for. The gym was just ok. Kudos to the staff for being attentive and going out of their way to remedy the noise issues.

I am sure the Park Hyatt used to be the "it" hotel in the Yorkville-Bloor area. However, Toronto now has a number of newer high end hotels (Four Seasons, Shangri-La, Trump). In comparison, the Park Hyatt feels like it is past its prime and overdue for a re-fresh. Stay here if you are looking for a clean and convenient hotel in the heart of the shopping district. Don't stay here if you are looking for a five-star hotel experience.
