“Grand old world style”

This famous landmark Toronto hotel was completely restored a few years ago to retain its turn of the 20th century opulance and style. The lobbey is impressive and the rooms large with huge marble bathrooms. Although we were told all double rooms with 2 single beds were booked on arrival the clerk happily up-graded us to a huge room with twin Queen beds and no less than 2 walk-in closets and a huge marble bathroom ..and all despite getting a very low rate for a standard room The parking is expensive but on a weekend it is free nearby on the street so we found parking half a block away from the hotel. The King Edward is very central and a 15 minute walk to the CN Tower as well as the waterfront ferries to the island, with the excellent and clean Toronto subway entrance right outside the door. The staff were pleasant and very helpful and the doorman great.

“nice stay”

Le Meridien King Edward

I and my son spent three nights in the hotel and it was a very comfortable stay. Many reviews I have read about the hotel before have been mentioning very good bedding and obnoxious staff. '
In our case it was a vice versa. I wish the bed was much more comfortable, but I have a back problem and I need a much firmer matrass. My son did not complain anyway..
As for the personal I was nicely impressed with their friendliness and eagerness to accomodate all our needs. I have to praise our consierge ( I think his name was Brian or Brandon) for his professionalism and very impressive knowledge of Toronto.
Overall, it was a very nice experience. Hopefully, we will be back one day.

I was traveling with friends and my two daughters. I booked a room for two queen beds (and received confirmation). When I arrived they would only offer me a room with one King. Had it just been my family, I would have gone to a different hotel. I slept on a cot they provided. The management showed little concern. They told me they do not guarantee rooms booked over the internet! The hotel is not that nice. The lobby is they only part of the hotel that is nice. The place is old and the rooms need maintenance. It really put a damper on my experience in Toronto. I would never use this hotel again. Beware, if you book here, you may not get what you asked for.

“Good enough for Becks, good enough for me!”

We got a great deal on Priceline for this hotel- great neighborhood, HUGE room for a city, too!

We ran into David Beckham and the LA Galaxy not once, but twice during our stay (!). As Priceline consumers, we would never expect to stay in a place like that- but it was just beautiful.
