“Inexpensive, clean, central -- excellent for groups and tours.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

For the last ten years, I've brought my entire class of Scriptwriting students to Toronto to pitch their film and TV properties to the major broadcasters, distributors and other important players. With the exception of one year when the hotel was partly closed for renovations, we stayed at the Best Western Primrose on 111 Carlton Street. The location is excellent -- a short walk to Yonge Street, lots of great restaurants and pubs, and an easy trot to Shaw Media, the OMDC and EOne, which is nice for us! The rates are fabulous for groups -- under $100 plus tax per night for single and double rooms, a smidge more for triples. Lorna Ramos always makes booking a large group like this a complete breeze, and check-in takes about 3 minutes for all of us! The rooms are clean, comfortable -- great beds and bedding! -- with mini-fridges, coffee makers, hairdryers,a gym and sauna, etc. It's not the Ritz but for my students and me, just fine and super comfy. Plus, it's safe -- very important, even though my students are adults, since some have never been to Toronto. So I appreciate the level of security at the BWP. The hotel doesn't have room service but there are lots of nearby restaurants that will deliver to your room -- ask for menus at the front desk. The restaurant in the hotel does a very good breakfast buffet and their dinners are good. Nearby Mom-and-Pop markets make it easy for broke students to find cheap eats, and the Timmy's off the lobby was useful for fast snacks.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor on the south side of the hotel. You get a great view of Lake Ontario and the...

When we arrived to Toronto, it was snowing and cold. We thought it was SPRING but I guess we were wrong. Anyhow, we stayed at Primrose Hotel for a few days and got a room on the 20th floor. The view was amazing; our window was facing the south so we could see the lake. . We had breakfast at the restaurant one day and it was ok, a lot of selection but a little expensive. Overall, I have nothing really negative to say about the Hotel and other than the weather we had a great time during our stay.

My family (my wife, son, daughter and myself) stayed at the Best Western Primrose hotel at 111 Carlton street, Toronto, Canada for few days . The location and ambience were excellent. The reservation was easy and helpful.
The most impressive aspect of this Hotel was the Tours for Niagara Falls and Toronto that is available at the lobby. We took the tour to Niagara Falls. Mr. John at the lobby who made the booking was very kind, helpful and gave clear details and explanations. On the tour Mr. Bernard was the guide. He gave a very enjoyable and informative commentary and explanations of all the places starting from Toronto through all places. In addition to Niagara Falls the trip covered more attractions around it. Helicopter ride over Niagara (ticket was not included) was great. The tower (the ticket was included) gave a very good view. Mr. Bernard took an excellent care of each member of the team and made us comfortable. On the whole it is one of the most valuable and memorable experience!!
Thanks to Best Western, Mr. John and Mr.Bernard!!

My wife and I recently stayed here with a few friends, while we were visiting Toronto. We were lucky enough to get a room on the 20th floor. The view was awesome! We spent most of the time in the room staring out the window!
The beds were comfortable, the bathroom spacious.
The staff seemed friendly and willing to help with any "tourist" questions we had.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the subway, but not a bad walk at all.

This hotel is worth checking out while in Toronto, for the price it offers quite a bit.

We went to Toronto to see a Basketball Game and eat at Midevil Times. This hotel is a great location, everything was close. The price was a good bargain, very clean and a Tim Hortons in the lobby, I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is just fine (better if you book free nights using your best western rewards program, like we did). Although it's quite "old" (guest floors and bathroom) the room was very spacious and comfortable, like our bed. Meeting the expectations and pattern for any best western hotel.

The staff wasn't very kindly, but not rude at all, the most friendly/kindly staff were the concierge, who was also the messenger (?), and managed to give us some basic information about Toronto and it's highlights.

The localtion is great, very close to the subway and had a few restaurants and shops around it. We've managed to walk to Toronto University, Kensignton Market, City Hall, Yonge-Dundas Square and even to the CN tower (using the P.A.T.H, underground).

The Taxi ride from Toronto Airport costed us C$67 and C$58 on the way back.

Stayed here for only one night, and it was exactly what we needed and expected. The location is pretty good, and it is only a short 5 minute walk from the subway. The views our room were spectacular! Wifi is free with password. Would recommend.
