Very Disappointed with this Hotel. The pictures look so nice and the reviews seem to be very good.

I'll start by first saying that the Staff were very Pleasant, Curtious and Extremely Helpful, they get 4 Stars.

The room was not very clean. There was dirt & dust on almost everything. The bed linens were stained and not very clean looking.

The rooms appear to have been renovated not to long ago, but not very well done. The cheap laminet floor flexed and squeaked with each step. The caulking around the tube was completely broken and is a invitation for mould. Not good at all.

Room Tip: Pay a little more and stay at a real hotel.

Compared to other hotels we've stayed at when my boyfriend and I spend the night in Toronto, this one was by far the best. We booked a deluxe king room. It was very clean and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate.

We stayed in room 801 so it faced Yonge Street and the elevator was right beside our room. The noises of the nightlife and street below didn't bother us. Then again, we're two people in our 20s.

I would definitely spend another night here next time I'm staying downtown and recommend it to others!

The hotel Victoria is a good spot if you are just coming into Toronto for a few days. The staff is helpful and professional, the location is good, and the rooms are clean. It is just a short 10 minute walk to the Eatons center, and has a pub across the street called the Irish embassy. They also have a breakfast place right in the lobby. While the rooms are clean and modern looking, they are a little bit small. If you are expecting more than a little room to move around the bed than you will be disappointed. There is only about three feet of space in any direction, but it didnt detract from the room too much. The bathroom was spacious, but the shower we had took a really long time to heat up and the shower head was right against the wall and unable to be moved. As such, I had to get right against the wall of the shower in order to get any water at all. Our room also didnt have a view except that of the brick wall across the service alley. In conclusion, it is a good spot to stay if the price is right. There are some flaws, but the bed is comfy and the location is good which makes up for a lot. There are better places to stay, but there are also a lot worse places.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel the first week of February as we were in the city for medical reasons. We found a great deal online and were very impressed.

The front lobby is nicely decorated and although we arrived before check in, we were given a room right away.

The room was small but comfortable and the bedding was very nice and cozy with many pillows and a duvet all very fresh.

The bathroom was nice and clean although the tub stopper didnt work.

We had a room facing another wall, but we didn't mind it was very quiet and aside from the neighbors in the hallway coming and going we we never heard anything.

The evening before we left there was a snowstorm starting and we couldn't find a car company to take us to the airport. I finally called the front desk and asked if he had connections, sure enough he said no problem and made all the arrangements and the car was there to pick us up right on time the next morning!

We had a hard time regulating the heat in the room but to be expected in an old building.

Overall we were completely satisfied and would defiantly recommend this hotel. It's walking distance from restaurants and coffee shops and you can always find a cab when you step outside!

I had good and bad experienecs for a first time at this hotel. The hotel gave us a free breakfast since it was our anniversary which was incredibly generous. Beds were VERY comfortable as were the pillows and the rooms were nice. Checking in and Checking out our clerks were very polite and helpful. We were on the 7th floor with a room facing the street - at 10pm we heard music so loud we could hear the lyrics clearly but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. When I called down to complain (12am), the front desk gentleman said it was coming from a club across the street and "nothing he could do". I asked for ear plugs and he told me they didn't have any. I found out in the morning that it was a club around the CORNER and the hotel had ended up calling the police as this was very out of the ordinary. What irritated me was that we were told in the morning that they had offered OTHER people rooms away from the street. When I said we were not offered this courtesy the front desk clerk apologized and said he would make a note as that should not have happened. The TV was ON when we arrived, and the door handle to the bathroom was in badly need of repair. I also found a metal holder from an item someone had bought that was left on one of the chairs in the room. One wall it was obvious a huge shelf used to be there - so wood filler and paint was needed. I would try this hotel again however...but I'd get a room not facing the street!

Room Tip: If you're not used to the city noise, ask for a room AWAY from the street.

Firstly, this is not a boutique hotel. "Boutique" indicates chic style. This is an old hotel which has been redecorated. At times it looks like the work was done by me - crooked light switches, scratched doors. The elevator has not been renovated - the doors squeak and groan.
Secondly, the staff are not welcoming. I arrived by taxi in sub-zero temperatures. I struggled through the front door with two bags. The guy behind the front desk sat and watched me. Didn't even hold the door open, let alone take a bag. In three days, no one on the front desk ever said hello or smiled.
Contrary to another post, this is not a quiet hotel. It is in downtown Toronto. Every night there were sirens wailing and the garbage men start work at around 6am.
This is an average, older, 3 star, city center hotel
