“Well worth a visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

We arrived at this boutique hotel by chance. We were greeted warmly. The room was very clean and spacious. It was very central and within walking distance of the theatre.I would have no hesitation in recommending here. Full marks to Erskin Lacey and Ariana Ramserran. They could not have been more helpful.

“So close to railway station”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We chose this lovely vintage hotel because it is so close to the main railway
station and we were leaving early the next morning for Niagara Falls. The hotel
has modern interior decor but is one of the classical turn of the century hotels with
lots of charm. Staff were very helpful and rooms were comfortable and reasonably
priced.

“Small, but perfectly formed.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Stayed for three nights at the end of October. The rooms are small but very stylish with comfortable beds. Receptionists were very helpful. The hotel is In the centre of Toronto and close to many attractions. We walked to the CN Tower, Chinatown and the St Lawrence Market. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a resonably priced stay and doesn't mind small rooms.

“Small hotel, centrally located.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I stayed for 3 nights in August and was somewhat disappointed with this hotel. I was swiftly checked into my room (rm 525) at 12pm which was great considering i had just arrived via train from Montreal. But, I was allocated a very tiny room on the 5th floor and upon entering it, i noticed there wasn't any room to swing a cat in, let alone a place for my luggage.
The rooms although recently renovated are lovely, BUT, the floors creaked with every step you took which was annoying, the bathroom was tiny and you couldn't sit on the toilet properly (even with the door closed), there was absolutely no where to place your toiletry bag on the vanity, which for a female is a problem. My room faced three brick walls and i couldnt tell whether it was day or night, i requested a room change and was advised it would cost me a further $125 per night, i had already forked out enough for my 3 night stay, i dont need a view, but be nice to know whether its sunny or raining......in my case the weather wasn't the best in late august.....lots of rain.
The small table was cluttered with gadgets for the tv, that never worked for the 3 days during my stay (I like to listen to the news in the mornings, but never could)
Like other reviewers, i was sold a king size and found the bed to be a lot smaller, not very comfortable either, but if you like claustraphobic, this hotel is for you. The elevator is old and your wait was long, considering it only had 6 levels to travel.
As for location, it was centrally located on Yonge St and close to the shops, restaurants and Dundas place, which is ok.
I took the chariots of fire tour to Niagara falls and when i had advised front desk clerk that i had done that, he wasn't too happy that i hadn't booked the tour the hotel offered and questioned whether i had already paid for chariots of fire and go for theirs instead......that kinda bothered me a lil, but didn't ruin my stay.
All in all, the only thing i can say is that if your travelling alone, its fine, but if there is two of you staying at this hotel, be prepared to climb over each other.........If i was to return to Toronto, i would seek another hotel......in saying that, if i got a cheaper rate, then i would consider staying here again.

“Excellent value in Toronto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Excellent location, helpful staff, updated rooms, very, very good value. Limited services - no laundry, no room service, no business centre or gym or pool. We use this hotel regularly for our business trips to Toronto - basic functional accommodation.
