“Great hotel in Yorkville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Check in was very friendly and quick. Room on 8th floor was very spacious and clean with an all marble bathroom. Our AC was not functioning well and within 5 minutes maintanance fixed the problem! Swimming pool was nice and had a sundeck. Hotels location is perfect, 50 meters from subway St. George (5 minutes to downtown) and shopping is directly near the hotel. Second day AC disfunctioned again, but problem was solved within 5 minutes again, great service. Parking is behind and underneath the hotel with direct access to the lobby. We paid $25 a day. You can use valet, but it will costs you $35 a day, choice is up to you. Right across the hotel is Toronto University with several parks around it, very beautiful and peacefully. We will definitely stay here again!

I stayed for 2 days in a quiet, spacious suite overlooking the ROM. Plenty of room for my SO and I to enjoy without stepping on each other. It was quiet on the 8th floor. You could not hear other guests or street noise. The bed and linens were lovely. We purchased the Ambassador Program membership for $250 registration fee (and then $200 annually). We did not get a 'guaranteed' room upgrade as we had hoped but it was Indy weekend. We were in a lovely suite with an extra 2 piece washroom and living room area. The room was one of the larger suites I have stayed in while in Toronto. We enjoyed some time on the penthouse terrace/pool. This area was a little smaller than I had expected but it was a lovely escape. I was surprised the Skylounge and vodkabar were actually located on the ground level. It is a beautiful space if you wish to enjoy a beverage. It was not too busy. We enjoyed our stay and we will stay in the Intercontinental on trips in the future. I would suggest that this is not the place if you are expecting flawless, impeccable 5 star standards. The couch in the seating area of our living room was stained and needed a scrubbing. The bathroom does not have a wow factor. Little details like bars of soap were not replaced when the housekeeper cleaned the room. Staff rang the doorbell even when the 'do not disturb' sign was in place and interupted our afternoon nap. Minor quibble: internet fees is an additional charge and even the business centre charges an hourly internet rate. That being said we found the staff to be accommodating, courteous and discreet. The hotel has a more luxurious feel to it compared to the Intercontinental on Front St. We loved the location of the hotel. It is right beside a Shoppers Drug Mart and Starbucks. We enjoyed taking a stroll during the evening and never had a problem finding a taxi.

We only live 30 miles (50 km) from this hotel, but we were in town for a wedding and wanted to stay over without having to drive home. The hotel was lovely, the check in was done by a trainee so a little slower than one would expect, but she was honest and tried her best to be as efficient as possible. The room was nice - a good size, clean a REALLY comfortable bed (I have lower back issues) and the bathroom was huge.
My only issue was that we were awoken twice by service staff knocking at the door, but I'll overlook that.
The location is the best for visiting the ROM, Gardiner museum, or strolling/shopping the "mink mile" (Bloor Street)

Front desk service was professional and helpful, very pleasant. Always addressed us by name. Walking the hall way of solid wood doors to our room gave a feeling of luxury. Rooms were very quiet including the heat/air conditioning. Could not hear any neighbors, thick walls great for sleeping. Bed was firm yet comfortable with smooth cotton sheets and duvet. I requested a top sheet American style bedding which they brought right away. Bathroom was nice, all marble with separate shower and bathtub which we liked. Lighting could be brighter and only a small 5 inch shelf for makeup and toiletries above pedestal sink. Our view on the 8th floor was over the garden in back, very quiet. The room with dark colors could use more lighting over the luggage rack. Only complaint, housekeeping was not thorough in preparation and left previous guest’s food in fridge and robes had been previously used and were dirty. But, that was forgivable, as this was the quietest room we’ve had at a hotel. Daily housekeeping was fine. Covered outdoor terrace by the pool was nice even during a rainstorm. City self parking was very easy behind the hotel in a protected lot, never more than $18.00 a 24 hour day and less if a partial day. Location is terrific across the street from the Museum, 1 block from Yorkville great eating choices and two blocks from Holt Renfrew. One block to St. George subway and the University.

Room Tip: Self park in back of hotel is easy and convenient, there is a walk through to the hotel so it is a s...

With about three years of regular experiences at staying with this hotel for business, one would think that the Front Desk staff would recognize regular clients but that never happened. It always felt like it was my first time which was never memorable, even though I usually checked in the late evening.
Apart from that, the rooms are comfortable, and the views are either of the street (ROM, Conservatory, or UofT sport field), or the inner courtyard. Service at the bar is great, and the food at the restaurant is delicious. The location is at the quieter end of Bloor (IMO) with a great designer window shopping experience on Bloor. Great location to Yorkville for dining options. Would I choose this hotel for leisure...probably not.

Room Tip: Courtyard view for quieter nights.

Dear tmr7,

Thank you for taking the time to sumbit your review following your most recent stay at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville.

While it was a pleasure reading your compliments of the food and beverage quality as well as our guestroom views and location, it was dissapointing to read your did not feel the recognition from our Front Desk associates. Please let me assure you this was certainly an exception to the usual standard of service. We will relay and discuss your comments with our front desk so that they are aware and that training tools may be implemented to our staff.

Stayed here in late May 2013 for a conference. check-in was delayed over an hour, however, lobby staff stored my luggage and once my room was ready, dropped it there (liked that service)! Room had an amazing view of UofT's football field to the left and the ROM to the right. king size bed was super comfortable and had enough pillows to make your night's rest perfect. the tub isnt big but enough and the shower is very, very narrow. Couches and desk in the rooom are useful and the flat screen tv hosts a variety of channels!

overall - perfect size room, all amenities, great food, can't expect any better!!

This InterContinental was perfect for our 3 night stay in Toronto. Right across from the Royal Ontario Museum and just around the corner to great restaurants, shopping and the train.

Check in was quick, easy and very friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the bed, linens and pillows - super comfy, and the bathroom was large and luxurious! Their concierge Carolina was wonderful - very passionate about Toronto and her job! She gave us so much information about the city and local area which helped to make our visit completely enjoyable!! We also enjoyed Proof, the hotels bar with a lovely outdoor patio; and as well enjoyed an amazing dinner at their Signatures Restaurant.

The Hop-on hop-off tour of toronto which was a 3-day ticket that included a boat tour in the harbor was a great way to learn some history of Toronto as well as to get around the city.

There also is a convenient self park lot attached to the lobby by a side entrance.
