arrived in Toronto around 5pm on the Friday after a long drive from Ohio.
Met by the porter who helped us with parking and arranged for our hire car to be valet parked.
We had the express check in option through the Presidents club as we had read about the long queues - no queues although very busy and less than 5 mins are we were checked in to room 145 floor 11...
First impressions of lobby - very BIG AND GRAND
our room; facing Union station, with the CNN tower to the right. Beautiful, clean, tidy, comfy beds, small but comfy bathroom with a rather nice shower...i.e it worked! Right by the lifts but no noise at night.
The hotel; we went and explored...basically got the lift to all the floors, inc floor 19 which is sometimes out of bounds and also went in to the ballrooms etc...the floor above the lobby has photo's and history of the hotel...for example it had a hospital wing and the biggest kitchen in a hotel ever! also lift 9 is the the lift that is used when the Queen is in residence...
Facilities; the gym is nice, the pool is great after walking in the heat. The Epic Bar and The Library were very nice (avoid the gren things in the bar snacks - vile lol)...service always good.
Breakfast - very good and filling - at weekends it is downstairs in the PATH York Diner but moves to Epic during the week
We did have a minor issue with our bill which was sorted promptly and effectively with no fuss or bother.
For 3 nights b&b with valet parking and breakfast was $700 - we booked directly with the hotel and got this rate which was worth every penny!
I loved this hotel and would like to know more about it!
Good location, great people, great place! You can see it from the CNN tower!
by the way the business centre internet is cheap and fast!
