Owner description: The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is among the world’s leading museums of natural history and world cultures. In combining a universal museum of cultures with that of natural history, the ROM offers an unusual breadth of experience to our audiences from around the world. We realize more acutely now that nature and humanity are intertwined, and the ROM offers many examples in its collections and programs of these fundamental relationships.

“A Great Family Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

If you have the chance, the Royal Ontario Museum is worth a visit. The exhibitions were well maintained and covered a wide variety of times, subjects and interests. The third floor is dedicated to Egypt, Africa, the Orient and Asia and is well worth the visit. Though not as large as some other museums, its holdings are quite impressive. It also has a good number of interactive displays for the kids.

“Better Before the Renovation and the Addition of the Diamond Building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I much preferred the museum before the renovations several years ago. The dinosaur exhibits were much more creative put into scenes and different kinds of lighting rather then just placed on top of white platforms with white walls behind them. There are quite a few dinosaurs to view but sadly most of them are casts and not original fossils. The geology exhibit is nice as well as the Egyptian section. I am sure as a first time visitor this would be a great attraction to visit, but seeing as I am a resident of Toronto I have been here many, many times growing up and sadly the displays never change or have no additions. It is nothing compared to the Natural History Museum in New York City, but it is still a nice attraction for both locals and tourists.

“Fun date location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

My boyfriend took me to the ROM for a date. We enjoyed all of the exhibits. A lot to look at for one day. If I lived in Toronto I would have a pass for sure.

“A Favourite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This museum is world class with an excellent dinosaur exhibit and a bat cave for the adventurous. The rotating featured displays are always interesting although there may be an additional fee. I have been fascinated with this museum since childhood, been a member for 30 years and have taken my children and now my grandchildren as often as possible. Always a learning experience and many inter-active features for children. My only disappointment is the new, modern, glass entrance. I preferred the original stained glass and marble rotunda but realize it is not functional for large crowds. It can still be seen if you turn left as you enter the building and, In my opinion, is worth seeing.

“Rewarding Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The Dinosaur Exhibit, it was awesome. At that time they also had a display of Carnival costumes from Trinidad & Tobago which was designed by Brian Macfarlane
