“best choice in area for upscale meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

My husband and I were very happy with the meals we had at his restaurant and with the service from the friendly and efficient staff. Also, it was quiet enough that we were able to talk to each other without shouting. My husband chose the fish and chips, and I had the pheasant pie which was very tasty, and very British. Nice selection of beers and wines. The restaurant is close to the Eaton Centre, Dundas Square, Ryerson University. It's the best choice in the area for an upscale meal in pleasant surroundings.

“Very disappointed .”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012 via mobile

I was looking forward to visit this pub.
However, the experience was quite disappointing. The food average. The burger we have ordered was very small and fries too salty ( cost $18) and kidneys on the toast were just average with nothing special to it.
The atmosphere not good at all.

“One of the best gastropubs in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Convenient location on Elm between Bay and Yonge. Cheery decor with some British schmaltz. Upstairs is more modern with nice couches and chairs. Great drink selection. I had the fish and chips which was lightly battered and done perfectly. Had cricket on the TV. Crowd is mainly locals with some Bay street suits at the end of the day. Enjoyed it very much.

“Really good pub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

On November 1st we enjoyed lunch at the Queen and Beaver. This is a vibrant pub. We sat upstairs, because tables were full in lower level. Very quaint, neighborhood pub atmosphere, with a wonderful menu of traditional, authentic items. We both enjoyed the cockaleeky soup. The deviled kidneys on toasted bread in drippings and the peppercorn and stilton bangers and mash were rich and delicious. The beer cold and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. All good stuff!
