“Heaven for beer drinkers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Love the name of this pub - right across the street from a Catholic church. A huge menu of beers on tap, some you won't find elsewhere. Service was friendly and food was excellent (which surprised us) and cheap (we had the specials which were jerk chicken $12 and a blackened chicken Caesar wrap with French Onion Soup for $11.50). Serves a wide variety of patrons due to its location. Employees of nearby hospitals, the Ontario College of Art staff and students, patrons of the Art Gallery of Ontario, local residents. Nice cross section and what a pub should be. Garage door style windows that open up to the street in the summer. Owner has a pub next door as well called the Village Idiot.

“Great European style pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Maybe I shouldn't write a review about this pub, as it is already quite crowded. Which makes it noisy! However, you won't see a single TV anywhere, nor hear any music! Hooray for that! (actually I was told the music was playing, but very quietly). I hate pubs that have a TV in my face no matter where I sit, and that blast me with loud music that the staff likes, not me. So this has a really cozy, kind of classy, European feel. The list of draft beers is very long - a lot of Belgians, but others as well. The menu looks intriguing -- we had the charcuterie plate and I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and flavour. We were well taken care of by staff, and all in all, I think we'll be back for more!

“good atmosphere. very fresh beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

I like this place a lot and keep coming back. Food is very decent considering its a pub. Beer is very fresh... and somehow tastes better than the same offerings at other pubs.

“Great variety of belgian beers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

If you like belgian beers, look no further. Huge list and knowledgeable staff. Ambiance like a british pub; slightly dark and rough round the edges. Reasonable bar food.
