“An experience for all senses”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2012

It's original Mississauga location was proof that you should never judge a book by it's cover. Nestled in an industrial area it was a magical surprise to walk into an intimate setting and industry leading service. Each course was timed to perfection, gently placed in front and delicately explained origins as chef's menu was introduced. This family own establishment takes you on a journey to Japan.

Haven't had a chance to visit the new location in the Japanese Cultural Centre but I believe the prices have gone up quite significantly making it no longer a default anniversary destination. Perhaps sometime in the future we will embark on this magical ride of culinary delight.

Best Japanese restaurant in all of the GTA imho. The food is delicate and absolute perfection. The 8 course tasting was a culinary learning experience I'll never forget. I look forward to returning and exploring more of this fantastic menu.

“Wonderful experience, exceptional service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2009

Seeing that we were scheduled to fly from Toronto Pearson Intl. Airport early one morning, we decided to stay in an airport hotel the night before, and then visited kaiseki yuzen Hashimoto for a wonderful dinner as our entertainment that evening, so-to-speak.

The location is really odd, in a nondescript strip mall, but, as mentioned above it’s convenient to visit this restaurant if you’re on the way out of Toronto early the next morning by plane, and need something unusual in the suburban wasteland of Mississauga to loll the time away the night before.

Décor is, well, homemade… This is a family run restaurant, where the cuisine is very accomplished and skilled, and the service is professional yet very warm. As soon as we were seated we were made to feel right at home by the mother and son service team.

Also of note, we thoroughly enjoyed a rare and expensive bottle of the finest sake we had ever sipped from Okunomatsu, simply superb.

I’ll be back.

Sincerely,

Richard Maloney

The portion is small but it is all about quality and the attention to detail..even the salt for my grill Tai is from Japan for a specific reason..the sake moose is definitely an eye opener for both the eye and the taste bud.... did I mention the attention to detail part!
