“Looks and feels new”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We had a bad experience at a non brand name hotel the night before we stayed at this hotel and were a little hesitant while driving up to this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised it was convieniently located had great curb appeal. The small lobby was spotless, the gentleman that checked us in made us feel like we were staying at a bed & breakfast. Very friendly. The room was also spotless everything looked and smelled brand new. The breakfast area was very small, we actually went back to our room to eat, but the breakfast was adequate.

When travelling to Thunder Bay we often passed by this small Inn. On a recent trip to the city we decided to book a room and give it a try. We were more than glad we did. The person who took our reservation was very friendly and really seemed that he appreciated our decision to stay there. Upon arrival the friendliness continued and we were actually shown to our room which was different even though the room was just down the hall. The room was spotless and very well equipped. It beds were soooo comfortable and for a small place they sure didn't scrimp on quality linens, pillows and towels. It was great to have a nice quiet sleep instead of the noise of party's in the rooms around us like the larger dirty hotel two minutes up the highway. We found some critters in our room at that hotel. What a world of difference. The rates were reasonable and well worth the price given the quality of the room. I would strongly recommend the Thunder Bay Inn to anyone looking for a good night(s) rest. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: The Thunder Bay Inn is a bit far from the main shopping and entertainment areas in the city but they...

This motel looks and feels brand new. Homey yet offering all the amenities you could want, this motel was perfectly comfortable. Loved the style and subtle luxury. We had a large camper and boat and had plenty of room to park. Plus they had a very lovely outdoor picnic area. Would definitely recommend it to anyone

This is the third time we have stayed here in the last year. Rooms are clean and spacious. There are microwaves and fridges in the rooms plus hi speed internet. All rooms are none smoking which is nice. There are in room movies. but you can not view anything that is still in theaters. No elevator. Comp breakfast is offered from 6 to 9 am.

We spotted the sign on the highway and decided to check out this motel when we got to Thunder bay....We were greeted by a friendly and helpful gentleman called Ben. Ben supplied two extra bath towels and two extra pillows when requested...
I inspected two rooms and settled for a queen bed ground floor looking out over carpark and main road.. The view was interesting to me..
Room and bathroom , very clean. and tidy ..It was a large bedroom, with two door fridge freezer.... The writing desk was too small.
No coffee maker, no electric kettle to make tea or coffee, no microwave....to heat food..
Hot water was supplied in flask to make tea overnight... but it is not hot enough...
a microwave was available at end of the hallway to heat food and make tea...But this is very inconvienent when i want to make up tea late at night or early morning, having to get dressed to go out to hallway to make tea... No swim pool...This town has a lot of old motels and hotels..
I think this was the best looking property i viewed in the area... A good secure motel..I hope they will install a microwave in future in the rooms..
I would stay here again if in the area...friendly and helpful staff...

Room Tip: front rooms overlook carpark and main road, rear room overlook the forrest, all rooms are good...

we stayed at this great place back a few years ago, great value for money, good bed and masive bath... had some great fun in it with my lovely wife..lol . without going on forever it is just a very good clean, comfy well run hotel. The owner told us to look out for bears, our room faced the woods, we are not sure if he was just kidding us . Next time we are in Thunder Bay were would not hesitate to stay again.

We spent 4 nights at this gem of a hotel - Sept. 10th to 13th inclusive. Having decided to make this road trip back home to family in Thunder Bay without reservations, we didn't quite know what to expect. This was the last hotel we checked out, after being very dissappointed in the 3 others we had looked at. We were welcomed the moment we entered the door, and because of our difficulty with stairs, the owner changed a room in order to give us a first floor room, facing the highway. We had no propblem with traffic noise during our stay. The Thunder Bay Inn is privately owned and it shows - it is immaculate with well appointed rooms, containing a quiet fridge, a large flat-screen TV, table and 2 chairs, spotless bathroom and free WiFi. The bedding and towells were the best of our whole 4 days on the road. The location was perfect for our stay - close to grocery stores, restaurants, LCBO, etc. We found Connie and Ben (owners) very kind and accommodating - to the point that coming back each evening was akin to coming home. We would highly recommend this hotel to one and all, for business or pleasure trips. During our stay, the hotel was fully booked each and every night - I think that says it all. Our Thanks to the Thunder Bay Inn for making our trip home so enjoyable and restful.

Room Tip: I would make reservations for this hotel on our next trip to Thunder Bay - we lucked out this time b...
