“Died and Gone to Heaven without the dying part!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

We chose Country Cozy based on the other reviews, and did not want to stay in town. But you never know 'til you get there....and my oh my what a pleasant surprise!
Bill and Mary are innkeepers extraordinaire, and have turned their home into a most pleasant and welcoming place. They have effortlessly found the perfect balance that allows a guest to interact as little or as much as they want. Breakfasts were delicious and always an opportunity to chat and linger on for a good part of the morning.
Our room was large and comfortable with a little nook off to the side for a microwave and mini fridge, and the bed is comfy and....cozy! This is the most "expensive" room (if you consider $90 expensive!) and definitely worth the extra, though the two other rooms appeared not in the least shabby, only smaller.
T-Bay is wonderful small city with no end of things to do, and we had a fun and busy 4-day weekend. But in fact you need only two reasons to go there: stay at the Country Cozy B&B and then go have lunch at Karen's Kountry Kitchen where you can sit on a deck over the lake and enjoy fresh and tasty food and friendly service. Don't miss either of these attractions!

We stayed at Bill and Mary's B&B in September on a weekend getaway. We felt very welcome right away, and felt like we were staying with family rather than strangers. (To tell you the truth, Bill reminded me of my Dad and that was very comforting!) Breakfast was delicious, and there is everything you could need in your room ( We stayed in the Sunrise room). Would recommend Country Cozy to anyone!

Mary & Bill are the most welcoming hosts I've ever met! They made me feel instantly at home in their beautiful house. If you have a car it's a great place to stay, it's about 20 minutes north from Thunder Bay. I stayed in the smallest room (Country Garden) which is bright, cozy and very clean with it's own toilet and sink and it is perfect for a solo traveller. The only thing I regret is that I just could stay for one night, because the breakfast was awesome (pancakes with Saskatoon berries) :) Thank you Mary & Bill for a wonderful stay!

If I could give this B&B more than 5 out of 5, I would. Bill and Mary are gracious hosts, and you couldn't ask for more than what you get at this B&B. The room we stayed in had a double bed, and small area with a bar fridge and microwave. We also had a private bathroom. For breakfast we had yogurt, fruit, broiled grapefruit and stuffed french toast - the best breakfast I have had in a long time...I'd almost make the trip back to Thunder Bay just for the chance of eating Mary's stuffed french toast again!
While the B&B is a short drive outside of Thunder Bay, it is well worth it!!!

20 minutes north of Thunder Bay Ontario is the best Bed & Breakfast I've ever stayed in. The room had a lovely bedroom with an attached sitting room surrounded by windows. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was so clean it sparkled. We had a great breakfast of stuffed french toast and fresh cut up fruit. The owners were very friendly and you could go anywhere in their lovely home or garden. Just be sure to eat dinner in town or bring food with you as the one close restaurant was mediocre in quality.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Country and Cozy B&B. Mary and Bill are such a beautiful couple. They have a nice, wooded house which is very artistically decorated. The little things they provide really show how much they care for their guests, from the granola bar and popcorn in the kitchen counter to the band-aid in the bathroom drawer, and to the broiled grapefruits hot out of the oven for the finest breakfast we've ever had. The bed was so comfortable! We just felt so well rested at Mary and Bill's place after two-day long motorcycle ride. The DELICIOUS breakfast kept us on the bike and in the cold for another six hours without feeling hungry! If you ever visit Thurder Bay, this is truly the place to stay. It is well worth the extra drive!

This serene B & B is in the village of Lappe, just outside of Thunder Bay, in a lovely, wooded setting with a garden. The house is large and roomy; it is very clean and tastefully decorated and the breakfasts are fine. However, much more impressive than the house and grounds are the owners: they are the sweetest couple we've ever stayed with! They did everything possible to make us feel welcome and at home. For instance, when Mary learned that I am a nature lover, she showed me the spot where the shy lynx occasionally sunbathes on their property. She and her husband shared colourful stories about the local characters and gave us great advice about exploring the area. Our only mistake was only staying the one night!
