We booked our stay with the Best Western Crossroads through a travel website, which taught us another lesson about the benefits of dealing directly with the hotel. We were traveling with two small parrots, and upon arriving in our 3rd floor King bed room, noticed a sign indicating that pets were not allowed in this room. I immediately went to the front desk, and fortunately there was one room left in the almost sold out hotel - unfortunately it was one with 2 queen beds - the pet-friendly rooms with king beds are few, and while we would have gotten one back when we booked, because the travel website had not notified the Best Western of this necessity, we could not get one at this late time. In fact, the hotel was full by the time our room was changed, so we were lucky we arrived when we did. The front desk staff were good about changing the rooms for us. Additionally, the travel website showed room amenities that did not exist in either room we saw, nor were they listed on the Best Western Crossroads website (microwave oven). The 3rd floor business class rooms were one step above and I sure wish we could have stayed there, but pets are not permitted on the 3rd floor.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The free continental breakfast was in a room on the 3rd floor, which was large and bright. Breakfast was good and welcome before hitting the road again. The gym was also a decent size. In addition to more than adequate wifi (we had two computers and an iPad), there was also a business computer/printer area across from the front desk. Also, while the in-room fridge didn't have a freezer, there was a deep freezer behind the desk that the desk staff was more than willing to allow me to place my ice packs in for the medication I travel with. That was most appreciated.
Overall, I was very pleased with the price and amenities the Best Western Crossroads provided! Next time, I'll make sure to call the hotel directly to make my reservation, though - this way I'll ensure to receive the right room for my needs.
