“Thank you Carolyn!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Carolyn was very accommodating with regards to required adjoining rooms. You even extended the pool hours to accommodate our late check in with 4 children dying to swim. We went on a weekday during March Break so I cannot attest to noise complaints from the bar. But the continental breakfast was substantial and the pool was so nice and warm.

Location - the first hotel as you enter the downtown area. It's about a half hour drive from the airport. There's a strip mall across the street with a Winners, Chapters, Shoe Company, Staples.
Room - dark, dated, but clean. In need of major make-over but besides the aesthetics, it was fine.
I stayed there on a Monday night for a work conference so did not experience the loud night club music as other reviewers complained about.
Front desk - hospitable and helpful.
Food - had ordered room service for dinner.Had a pasta that was pretty good. Also had lunch ordered for our business meeting there and it was quite good too.
Amenities - there's a pool and fitness centre in the basement that I didn't get to check out. Free internet.
It was my 1st time to Sudbury so not sure what expectations to set but they were not high and it was fine. But for the price, it's a little on the high side for what you get.

No mention on site that there is a VERY LOUD bar/dance club attached to hotel. Did not like it one bit and the bar on the main floor went until after 2am. Bathroom and room needs a good scrubbing, bathroom is smelly. Dust and who knows what behind beds, dressers.... Bathroom really small. Linens were all white and clean, bed was clean. Staff was friendly.

the room was nice nothing extra, clean and a good bed. When it came to check out i noticed that they were charging me per night for my dog since we were there 2 nights, they charged me over 56 dollars, i have never seen that before and i travel with my pet all the time way over priced they dont even have pet beds or treat nothing i dont think they should charge for pets at all, and if they do it should be one price for the hole stay not buy night. I have never paid buy night and the hotel is not classy enough to charge that price.

Room Tip: lots of nice restaurants near buy,

Unfortunately, this hotel suffers from my number 1 pet-peeve that I just can't overlook, SMOKE! And this hotel has no shortage of it. As soon as you walk in the door it is detectable and once you go up the stairs to the rooms, hold your breath. That said the staff are very courteous, friendly and accommodating. There is a very usable fitness room and indoor pool. BUT, for the price this hotel disappoints big-time: dated, musty and did I mention the smoke- we're talking unmistakable, not just a hint or occasional waft. Too bad because if it was completely smoke-free it would be a very acceptable place to stay (for twenty or so dollars cheaper).

Room Tip: If you're a smoker, you're gonna love this place.

The hotel for the most part is clean. Staff very friendly. Room was fine except for the bathroom....mouldy tiles! I like a firm bed, but this one was overly so. The breakfast had slim pickings and reports from other family member's staying there indicated the muffins were stale and the juice was watered down....I opted for instant oatmeal and tea. For the price, I would stay at one of the other hotels within a block of this one.

Pretty basic, but it seemed more genuine than the cookie cutter Holiday Inns/Hampton Inns, etc. No iron or board in the room, but they were happy to bring one up. Nice people on staff. Quiet at night. Bed & quilts were very good
