“Coming back a little bit.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2011

We have eaten at the Alley four years running. the first two years were very good experiences the third rather bad and this year pretty good. The host (maitre d') needs a lesson in graciousness or at least good manners. The waitress on the other hand was delightful and knowlegeable. the food was a mix! The soup was very good as was the desert. The main courses were uneven. The fish, strong and not especially tasty but the steak frite was quite good. The meat was tender and well prepared. The frites were excellent. So we give the Alley a B- up from a D from last year.

“Server was very friendly, but main course was late and we almost missed a play”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2011

our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. However, the main course was late and we almost missed our play. The food was creative, though I felt my scallops were slightly under done.

“Food and service have slipped”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

We've enjoyed Keystone Alley over the years, but service and what you get for your money are slipping from what they were.
We had lunch: the soup ($8.50) was good, but if you wanted bread or a roll with it, you paid extra. There was little salmon in my wife's salmon quiche. Our salads seemed to have little or no dressing and were tasteless.
The worst aspect was our waitress, who had the attitude that she was doing us a big favour looking after our order. She was "snippy".
It's too bad. Keystone Alley used to be worth its high prices.

“Wonderful Food, Great Service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Be sure to visit Keystone Alley when you're in Stratford. The menu is varied, and the food preparation excellent. The indoor dining is delightful, but on our recent visit we sat in the outdoor patio breezeway. Our waitress recommended both drinks and menu items and we were not disappointed. While I am not a "liver lover" myself, that particular dish seemed to be very popular. Reservations are recommended.

“If all they have left is patio seating, go somewhere else!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

It wasn't their fault that I made reservations the day before, and all they had left was patio seating. That being said, I was hoping the patio seating might add extra ambience. It was a horrible descion. They seated us outside, closest to the door that leads out from the resturant, I think that where all the flies hung out. Maybe the odor from the kitchen attracted the flies? We were bothered constantly by flies. The food was very tasty for both of us, except we spent more time shooing flies off our plates, than eating our food. I complained a few times to the wait staff, hoping they could find a table inside, it never happened. When the waitress asked us if we wanted desert, we both laughed, and told her we couldn't wait to get away from the flies. My advice is if they tell you all they have left is patio seating, go somewhere else! As we left we saw two extra tables, that made matters worse, since they could have moved us, at least for desert.
