“Beautiful place to stay”

Buckingham house is beautifully appointed turn of the century house...oh those high ceilings. Shelley is a super hostess, friendly and welcoming. We had two great breakfasts and lucked in to meeting the most interesting fellow guests. Oh and the grounds are inviting and it's to get to the town centre.

My wife and I have been coming to Stratford together for about ten years, and we always feel like a homecoming, from the restaurants to the stores to the scenery (and the plays of course). In the last couple of years, that feeling has been helped along by Shelly Myers and her B&B. We had enjoyed staying at Buckingham when Ted owned it, but Shelly has really made us very welcome with her great conversation, food and hospitality. The house itself is a beauty, and its proximity to the town is yet another plus. We are already planning next year's visit, of which this remains an integral part.

Great location a short walk from down town and one block from the YMCA. Also close to the train station, an easy walk. The furthest theater is within walking distance, about 1.4 kilometers on quiet streets, the others very close. Shelly is a great host, likes to visit, and knows alot. The house is charming and the (3) rooms are all nice, and all different. One would have to stay in all three to be sure of one's preference, as we have. We do agree with all the positive content of the "recent reviews" I see on the right, and most certainly will return next year. We are a bit fussy, but zero complaints here :-)

First, Shelly is a super hostess who makes you feel welcomed and truly at home. She is as friendly in person as on the phone.
We were warmly welcomed at our arrival and were very comfortable for our entire 2 night stay. Many amenities include 2 very comfortable sitting rooms, lap top for guest use, free WIFI, books, games, small kitchenette area with hot and cold drinks provided, and 2 cozy outdoor areas. My favourite was the deep cushioned love seat under the arbor where I could watch the birds, squirrels and very well fed cats.

We stayed in the Elizabeth room, a little hesitant at first as the bathroom was across the hall, but this was not a problem as the bathroom was only for us, loved the room. Breakfasts were amazing, as were the treats that we're always left out for the guests. Great location, parked the car and never drove again until our departure. Also VERY clean. A MUST STAY

As a Christmas present for my boyfriend's parents/aunt we bought them tickets to 42nd Street . As a gift to us, his parents booked us a one night stay at Buckingham House. We were welcomed by Shelley, the owner of the place and also a family friend of my boyfriend's family. The B&B has three bedrooms, each bedroom with their own bathroom which was great. The upstairs consisted of the three bedrooms with a small common area for sitting, reading and watching TV. If you forgot a book, don't worry Shelley has a great selection in her bookcase! Downstairs, there was also a beautiful sitting area inside and a beautiful patio set outside, which we didn't use but hopefully we will when we return!
The breakfast Shelley made was so delicious. Definitely worth waking up for early in the morning. Her cranberry loaf was warm and tasty, and the selection of teas she had went well with it. She definitely enjoys what she does and you can tell with her presentation of the food and her passion in cooking. If only her kitchen was big enough and perhaps she could do cooking classes in the future!
The location of the B&B is in walking distance of the main strip in Stratford and theatres around town. Easy to find and in a safe location! If you are thinking of staying here, don't think about it, just do it and you'll understand why people love it!

Room Tip: If you are tall and have long legs, I wouldn't recommend the room closes to the street because o...

We spent two nights at Buckingham House and really enjoyed our experience. Buckingham House is close to most of Stratford's theatres and restaurants. We had the large front room with a really-ensuite ensuite bath. The bed was comfy and the room quiet, and the house has many areas inside and out where you can relax and unwind.

Shelly is a super host and great cook -- you will not leave the breakfast table hungry.

We have stayed at a few B & B's in Stratford and this was one of the best. Beautiful garden area, delicious healthy breakfast, very clean and confortableroom and a super host. It was a good location too for the Festival Theatre and downtown.
