“Outstanding Pad Thai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

I just can't get over this place.

Our typical order is veggie springrolls, crab rangoon, and pad thai (mild) and pad thai (medium)...and it is sooooo good. The portions are perfect as you can usually squeak out another 3/4 of a meal out of the order if you are being reasonable.

To this day when I drive out that way I will stop by and bring some home...happy memories of this place. (we live an hour away...so we do have to reheat it).

“Sad sahla”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

If downtown St. Catharines is not the saddest excuse for a city core well it is in the top 5 for sure. Sahla Thai is just one of many poor restaurants that are adding to that rep. As we entered the place at 9 pm on a Saturday night a staff member was washing the floor. She stopped to assure us they were open. The place looked empty but there were a couple of patrons hiding in the back. We were seated with menus while she continued to wash the floors. After about 5 minutes breathing in the mr. Clean we were asked if we wanted drinks. Impossibly large menu. I stuck with the traditional pad Thai My husband had the roast duck. What level of heat? 2 for me 3 for him. Started with chicken satay. They came quickly with a little burner thing. Though they were precooked the grill thing was really fo show.. Tasted like from m&m meats. You know that kind of squishy flattened chicken that has the wrong consistency. The St is were sticky and the peanut sauce was too sweet. Very large satays. Pad Thai had a strong whif of puppy breath. I could not eat it. Extremely large portion lots of shrimp but the smell was off-putting. The roast duck was so spicy it was inedible.
Two girls came in after us and were yelled at for heading g directly to a table.
St. Catharines is a university town. It should be buzzing with life. Student and professors.
We are spoiled by the Smokin Buddha in port colborne. It's the best in niagara bar none.
I hope salah Thai can get it together. It looks like a family is counting on its success and St. Catharines needs all the help it can get.

“QUICK AND TASTY!!~”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

My son and I try to get here for lunch at least once a month. The staff is incredibly friendly and courteous! The food comes out quickly, piping hot, and DELICIOUS!!! And the meals are very reasonably priced! And for dessert.... the deep fried bananas and coconut ice cream is AMAZING!!!

“The best in Niagara”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

Sahla Thai is home to Niagara's best Pad Thai. Huge portions and great quality. If going to eat in person, parking is located behind the building

“WORST FOOD”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

This was not our first time here. Had dinner many times, but the last time was the worst. Never to return. Don't waste your money.
