“Friendly staff - clean rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

I booked our stay to St. Catharines at the Capri Inn because of all the wonderful reviews it had here on TripAdvisor. The staff was very friendly and helpful both with directions, information about places to eat and attractions in town. The room was clean. The showers hot and water pressure great. Fridge in rooms and coffee pot with tea and coffee. A safe in the room, ironing board/iron and hair dryer. Free Wifi. Great place. Very reasonable price.

We booked this hotel based on the great reviews and I'm not sorry. We arrived after a day at Niagara Falls and at first sight, the inn was not quite what I had expected. It's an older style building with doors leading directly outside, two storey with stairs. As soon as I stepped into the office with my visiting family members, Mary at the front desk had us in stitches. We laughed so hard that tears were streaming from our faces as she described the various room options and scenery, complete with pros/cons and illustrations. Since there were three of us (my cousin & wife, plus me) she suggested a larger room with a privacy partition. Perfect. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had two queen beds, a table and chairs, a lovely leather sofa, a fridge and coffee/tea/hot chocolate and the usual tv, dresser etc. There were plenty of towels in the super bright clean bathroom. As soon as we were settled, there was a knock on the door and a gentleman checked to see if the air conditioning was at a satisfactory level. There was even an unexpected juice/muffin/Danish selection of snacks in the morning. We visited Mary a few more times just to enjoy her stand-up comedy. She gave us good advice on where to dine. The location of this inn is fantastic and the rates were more than reasonable. I look forward to going back.

Room Tip: We were in the large room on the second floor above the office. It was on the street side but we hea...

Avoid the big box hotels without a soul! This is an exceptional, vintage motor hotel with sincere and friendly proprietors who are obviously dedicated to making your stay comfortable and working very hard to maintain and update the property. [They may even proudly show you blueprints of planned enhancements / additions.] We found our room very quiet, spacious, comfortable, and conveniently located. The bed / mattress / linens were very clean and comfortable. A very satisfying stay at a very reasonable rate.

Very friendly owners and staff, very accommodating, Room was very clean, Nice bathroom, plenty of hot water and water pressure. Extremely convenient to the QEW and Port Dahlousie-although it was close to the QEW, you couldn't hear any traffic from the room. We'll be back!

The rooms were dated, as one reviewer mentioned, but they were comfortable and spacious. The fridge was a great perk, and the continental breakfast was appreciated. If you get a chance, check out The Syndicate Restaurant and Angel's nearby. The former has a great menu, and has excellent food. The latter was a great place for breakfast before we visited Niagara Falls.

the staff at Capri Inn was quite friendly, and our stay was pretty comfortable, I slept pretty well.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean but really could use some renovation (it's showing its age). They have a continental breakfast available in the morning but it's not that great. Despite that, the rooms are still expensive enough. There's probably better value elsewhere.

We had a great stay here. The rooms were really well equipped, well furnished and included free wifi. They were very tidy and the bedding was very comfortable. This is your classic motor hotel with exterior access to the rooms. The facility is in great shape and the hosts were both helpful and friendly.
As others have noted, the location is next to the highway - windows open, hear the noise - windows closed, hear nothing. The A/C in our room was good and though we left the windows open, we would have been fine with them closed.
We will stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 290. Wonderful view over the river (used to be part of the original Welland Canal...
