“Always fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

For a pub their food is surprisingly good. Best cabbage rolls I've had in years (this was a special) house made by their chef. Have tried about one quarter of the regular menu with no complaints. Many brands of draft beers available. Usually busy so be prepared. They offer live entertainment on the weekends. This is a fun spot.

“I'd give it a higher rating if possible...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

If you like curry at all you MUST get the Asian Burger... a sauce made of coconut milk and a hint of curry, a perfectly cooked, juicy burger, topped with onion rings with curry in the batter... I could have inhaled a dozen of these and been rolled out of the place. Quite honestly, the best burger I've had at a restaurant in years and years. But, it doesn't stop there. They make their own fries on the premises. They are soooo good.

My husband had the deep-fried, battered haddock with fries and slaw. It was also really nicely done. We live an hour away, but the food here is so delicious, it's worth the drive just for dinner. Can't wait to go back.

To top it off, Brandi was a wonderful, warm, welcoming server with whom we enjoyed some great conversation.

We highly recommend this place... freshly made food, a relaxing atmosphere, and great music while we were there.

“Great Food, Service and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

The food is delicious and very well priced. Friday nights are Curry night and if you like curry you MUST go. The atmosphere of Up’s and Down’s has a neighbourhood bar feel with several TV’s and a lot of interesting reading and pictures on the walls. The staff at Up’s and Down’s are incredibly friendly and are always willing to go the extra mile to make your experience pleasant and memorable. Live bands are very often playing and there is a private room upstairs for large parties. One of the great things about Up’s and Down’s is the ‘patio.’ There is no real patio to speak of but there are doors that stretch half way across the pub that open onto beautiful Front Street and overlook the St. Clair River. This is definitely one of the greatest places to eat or drink in Sarnia.

“Great lunch and epic desserts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

Our family enjoyed a great lunch here -- the fish and chips and peanut butter bacon burger were outstanding. And the desserts were wonderful -- the guinness chocolate cake may be a new family favorite. A nice selection of local brews as well. The friendly welcoming staff made our visit first rate.
