“Nice looking place with room for improvements.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Beautiful location with a nice river view. Food is average, service is typically quite good. They don't seem very family oriented though - didn't have change tables last time I checked and also don't have many high chairs. We were turned away once because they were out of high chairs. The patio view is great in the nice weather. Since this is a new restaurant, I think they will figure out where they can improve and probably have a restaurant monopoly in Paris. We will prefer Cobblestone though.

“Bird's Eye View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

After paddling the Grand River this summer from our home in Galt, the Stillwater grabbed our attention from the river's edge as we pulled our canoe out. The restaurant has prime riverside real estate with a deck that is probably the best perch in Paris. This weekend we returned with a friend to have a late afternoon beer--mostly because the view is unmatched.
On Sunday we enjoyed German Radeberger pilsner and wheat beer (nice citrus blast with good cloud in the wheat beer) and front row seats for the antics of the diving mergansers and bufflehead ducks below. The bar was quiet--we assumed everyone was already napping after the 7am Olympic hockey game. So, service was swift, friendly and attentive.
What would have made the visit better yet? If there were binoculars on the window-side tables for customers to use and a simple guide to some of the local birds.
Yes, beer and binoculars! It would be a unique twist to an establishment that counts the river as a distinct part of its ambience.

“so disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

sorry this is a place I will not be spending my money on again. All staff should look professional when working . in a place that you charge these prices. The food was nothing special. The
weather was inclement and so the restaurant was almost empty. The staff was inattentive
which made us feel as though we were an inconvenience. You would think that any business
on a slow night would be appreciated. I must say the appetizer was very good.

“it's o.k but not worth the drive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

Came in from Burlington on a recommendation from a friend from the area. Although the atmosphere was nice, we found the service and food average. Parking was a little awkward, the place is right down town so if you dont hit a spot along the main drag you have to walk in from the municipal lot. It was a little cold the night we went so it was not quite accomadating. Just my opinion, there are plenty of great restaurants right here in our own back yard known as the golden horseshoe.
