Owner description: The Museum engages visitors with the wonder of flight through its spectacular collection, educational programming, activities, and special events. The Museum focuses on aviation in Canada, but within an international context, from its beginnings in 1909 to the present day. As Canada’s contribution to aviation expanded to include aerospace technology, the Museum’s collection and mandate grew to include space flight. The Collection itself consists of more than 130 aircraft and artifacts (propellers, engines) from both civil and military service. It gives particular, but not exclusive, reference to Canadian achievements. The most extensive aviation collection in Canada, it is also considered one of the finest in the world.Care and development of this collection remains one of the Museum’s main purposes. The Museum practises conservation and restoration techniques to keep the collection in a condition equal to the highest standards.

“Nice Collection of Planes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

If you are a plane buff, this is the place to see. We were unaware that the place closed at 5 PM on a Friday afternoon, as the staff did not say anything when we bought our tickets about 3 PM. The Star Wars exhibit is worth going, but the overall price was a shocker: three adults cost $85. There was a flight simulator and we were willing to pay the price, but the old fellow working it refused to let us go on because it was near closing time. He was rather curt too. Not a good visitor experience.

“Really interesting - you'll be surprised!”

The old planes are nicely displayed and the building is intriguing. Gives a good idea of Canada's aviation history.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Having been to many other Canadian and US aviation museum, this one has an extensive collection of aircraft, with very informative info boards. As you can see in the pictures, the barriers are very minimal, so nothing hampers the view on the exhibits. Strongly recommend for anyone with any shred of interest. It's quite cheap too...

“Good place to go with kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

A lot of planes and attractions for kids during the week. I know that you can do some night tour too. The souvenir shop is great.

“Better than I expected - not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

So many beautiful planes, several that visitors were allowed to sit in. Also 3 or 4 flight simulators. Visitors can also take a ride in a helicopter or biplane. I didn't think it was going to be enjoyable but I was absolutely wrong. It was terrific. Don't miss the Star Wars Identities exhibit that is at the Museum (actually in one of the hangars). If you're a fan you will love it.
