Owner description: The Museum engages visitors with the wonder of flight through its spectacular collection, educational programming, activities, and special events. The Museum focuses on aviation in Canada, but within an international context, from its beginnings in 1909 to the present day. As Canada’s contribution to aviation expanded to include aerospace technology, the Museum’s collection and mandate grew to include space flight. The Collection itself consists of more than 130 aircraft and artifacts (propellers, engines) from both civil and military service. It gives particular, but not exclusive, reference to Canadian achievements. The most extensive aviation collection in Canada, it is also considered one of the finest in the world.Care and development of this collection remains one of the Museum’s main purposes. The Museum practises conservation and restoration techniques to keep the collection in a condition equal to the highest standards.

“Excellent variety with plenty of helpful informative staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012 via mobile

The price if admin was good value. The added tour of second building is definitely worth it at $5. (Not sure how I feel about having to pay extra for it though). the place is immaculate and the layout us fantastic with lots of eye candy. It is nice to nit just have planes plopped there. They have engine cut outs so you can see functionality and some setting displays to add character. There was a number of roaming employees who were friendly and spontaneously offered info. Super clean and open layout. Lots of early aviation reproductions. Spent about 3hrs there. Great value.

“Just ok...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

It was snowing hard when we visited this museum so our family of 6 and the staff was literally the only poeple in there. This shouldn't be a bad thing because when places are crowded, it makes it hard to enjoy the exhibits. So it was a boring trip that I will not be returning to. My kids had a blast though and their family rate of $28 saved of about $10.

It was fun from start to finish, everybody enjoyed themselves!! The kids enjoyed seeing an airplane up that close, because most had never seen one that close!

“Great day out in recent rain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Worth paying the extra for the guided tour of the 2nd hanger, some real gems are tucked away over there if you are a avaition fan.
