“Excellent - a must if you have a child”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012 via mobile

This is an amazing museum - we visits with our 5 year old child and it was really excellent- paid the extra to see the whale exhibit and it was well worth the money. Strongly recommend - allow 5 - 6 hours if you really want to see the exhibits.

“Good museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

Regular exhibits are really great. Sections for dinosaurs/prehistoric animals, mammals, birds, bugs, geology & more. My only critique is the sections don't flow nicely. You go through the exhibit then have to backtrack through it to get out & into the next section.

I don't think the extra for the whale exhibit was worth it. Some of the information & displays were duplicated in other sections of the museum. Also a large part of it deals with whale hunting & beached whales with some pretty graphic pictures. Probably not great for kids.

Parking is also very expensive so I recommend taking the bus or walking/biking if you can.

“Learning more about nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

Everyone will benefit from a trip to this fascinating museum. So many great floors. A personal favorite was the bird gallery. Lots of interactive games and displays designed to get visitors involved. I learned to identify the calls of different birds. Did you know that ravens are much larger than crows?
Oh and don't miss identifying your hot spots thanks to a heat-sensor camera also used in ghost-hunting. Great choice for a family outing!
