Friends invited us to Sushi Village. I must say that it was a pleasant surprise to walk into this restaurant, the décor transporting us to a more urban centre like Montreal or Toronto than the suburban mall it is located in.
The menu was, in my opinion more extensive than other “all you can eat” sushi places, a major difference being the order sheet that needs to be filled had perforated sections allowing ordering not all at once, but as needed.
We started our meal from the first section of the order sheet with a selection of sushi, sashimi, then followed by maki rolls and hand rolls. We continued with the Tempura section, shrimps, scallops, eel, octopus, crab meat, sweet potatoes and onion rings. We also tasted from the Teppanyaki, Donburi, Teriyaki, Udon and Donburi sections; and completed the meal with a green tea desert.
The food was all beautifully plated and presented.
The pot of tea and the desert were inclusive in the “all you can it”; the staff were very attentive and generous with the portion sizes, the wasabi and pickled ginger. Most importantly, the food especially the fish, raw fish, was very fresh and its delicate flavours truly enjoyed.
Ordering ‘a la carte’ is also available.
I would highly recommend this restaurant, and will return.
