“consistently Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2011

I have been using the Business Inn over a number of years. They were one of the first to introduce internet in the room complete with a computer and desk. IT support included. All the amenities for business class travel included. You can make your own breakfast or get complementary down the hall.
Close to businesses and services in downtown area. All ways satisfied with my stay.

Room Tip: Ask for room above level 3 and get a balcony.

This is by far the cleanest and most comfortable hotel that I visit. It may not be brand new but the cleanliness of it is incredible.
Staff are very helpful, even the housekeeper who saw me with multiple suitcases stopped to ask if I needed assistance.
Location is prime and you are within walking distance of stores, restaurants, Parliament buildings.
10 on 10 to them
The new flat screen televisons are so awesome............and huge!

I stayed in this hotel with my husband on one of his business trip for 5 days. He ordered the room through his business credit card, so he paid for it with his card when we check-out.

This hotel is convenient located. Our suite with kitchenette is roomy and comfortable. We love the desk top computer in our dinning room and the beautiful tvs and the choice of channels. There were lots of cooking pots, pans and dishes. The included breakfast was great in the morning. All the staff were nice, except one maid.

The bathroom with lots of reg. light bulbs was always very hot. The air conditioning was never cool even turned to the highest setting. During the 10 min. of shower, the water temperature varied from warm to hot, then to cold. The bathroom sink cold water tape hammered from time to time. No recycling bins in the suite, the flashlight in the kitchen drawer didn't work, no scissors in the drawer. The last, but not the least, there is no feed-back/survey form for the guest to fill in.

One morning when I was going down to the breakfast room at 9 a.m., one of the maid was knocking at a room. The guest opened the door ajar, he was in a daze. The maid asked when she could make-up the room, the guest said he was not feeling well, maybe later.

On the morning we were checking out, my husband settled the bill on his way to work at 8 a.m. he told the clerk that we would check-out at 11 a.m. (the check-out time). He put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door. At 8:30 a.m. the maid knocked at our door, asking when she could make-up the room, and asked why I was still there since the bill had been paid. I had to explain to her why my husband paid the bill and I was still there with my door ajar in my night gown, that left a bad experience in our staying in that hotel.

This hotel offers large apartment size rooms with kitchenette, a livingroom with leather couches (one pullout), dining room and a balcony. Located just a 10 minute walk from the parliament buildings and downtown shops and the market and right across from Yuk Yuks Comedy Club. The connected pub/restaurant offers excellent pizza and other faire - room service too! The rates are also great!

Stayed in a signature suite with my daughter, she was very happy to have the sofa bed which gave her her own space. The bed was very very comfortable. In fact I usually don't sleep well in hotels so I never set the alarm and I actually slept in. I agree with other reviews as this isn't a 5 star luxury hotel but its a 5 star in every other aspect, for service, cleanliness,
amenities of computer, printer etc. Large screen TV (although I had a bit of a time operating the 3 remotes, had to have my daughter fix the bedroom TV a couple times when I pressed a wrong button). The hotel is in a good area, but a bit of a distance from the touristy feel of Parliament buildings etc but an easy walk. Lots of restaraunts nearby. My room requests were accomodated beyond expectation. Breakfast a very nice touch. Great value for money staying here. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Stayed at the Business Inn for a short stay, with my husband. Room was very spacious, well furnished, neat and clean. Room had a PC and a printer in the room along with a business desk - this was useful for the occasional internet search that we needed to do to find places in Ottawa. Bed was large, and very comfortable. Kitchen was neat and clean with a complete set of dishes, pots and pans. Lots of clean towels in the bathroom, and good room service. Breakfast was available at 7 am with a good choice of bagels, french toast, waffles, cereals, fresh fruit. Very prompt service at the front desk.
Amazing value - would stay there whenever I need to visit Ottawa.

The hotel doesn't, in my opinion, match up to the 5 star ratings some have given it, but it's reasonable value for money given its excellent location. Good points: it's very well placed for Ottawa (which we thought was a lovely city); the staff were pretty good; the rooms are large and there are balconies. Not so good: it does show its age, although the main rooms have been renovated reasonably well; the breakfast was very basic.

I'd recommend it on a value-for-money basis. Just don't expect the Ritz.
