“Fine Dining in the Middle of Nowhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

This lovely restaurant is well worth the drive from Cornwall or Ottawa. We were fortunate enough to have dinner there and were very pleasantly surprised with the menu: not your usual fare - osso buco, rack of red deer, quail, sea bass, scallop ceviche to name a few of the items on the menu. The food was excellent, prepared very well and beautifully presented. There was a nice wine list; not lengthy but offered good choices of both red and white. The restaurant itself is within a former church, stained glass windows, and when you walk through the door you are greeted by the organ and a beautiful chandelier. The owner will be happy to tell you the history of the place and how it came to be a restaurant. It's a great story! Service was excellent in every way. Desserts were wonderful - we shared the creme brulee and walnut ice cream - yum! We were there on a Friday night but the owner was telling us that they have jazz nights on Saturday evenings so next time we will go for that.

“Great restaurant where they really care about you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

We recently had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant located in Moose Creek, Ontario, and were pleasantly surprised. The menu was not the usual fare and offered selections that varied from osso bucco to rack of deer. Everything we had was excellant and a delight to our palate. Great care was taken to serve our meal the way we liked it and to oblige us with changing things on the listed plate ( due to allergies). The atmosphere was relaxed and the decor peaceful (it used to be an old church and still retains the original stain glass windows). The owners showed great pride in their restaurant and told us about the history of the place. We were fortunate enough to be there on a Saturday night where we were entertained with live jazz. You need to make reservations and you won't be disappointed with your evening or lunch meal.

“Quaint restaurant small enough to pay attention to detail”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012 via mobile

Had dinner on a rainy Thursday evening. The restaurant was about a third full. Owner and his wife were waiting tables. Lovely little church converted to a restaurant. Both owner and his wife answered our questions and took time to give us a history of the transformation of the church. Neat story. Ask them. They'll be happy to share.

The food was delicious. I had scallop ceviche with strawberries. So fresh, tart and wonderful. My partner had the spring roll duo. Very tasty.

I chose the lamb which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. He had the red deer which was also cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. Again presentation and detail were not overlooked.

It was a no brainer when we were told Creme brûlée was on the dessert list. It was served with fresh berries and a side of walnut ice cream. Yummy!

I have paid the same amount at mediocre chain restaurants without satisfaction. Give Knox a try. Worth the drive and you won't feel disappointed.

“Wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Had dinner with my hubby for my BD at Knox Fine Dining in Moose Creek. This is such a beautiful place! It has a small town charm and everything if very personnalized, the owner even greets you at the door. No sangria on the menu, so he offered to make one just for me. Wonderful service! The menu is all meat. My hubby had the red deer rack and the wild boar spring roll and I had the chicken. There is no vegetarian plate on the menu, so beware. It is a bit expensive but given the attention to your plate it is worth while. During the summer, there is a jazz band every Friday and Saturday night. Delicious!!!

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012 via mobile

Great experience overall. We were a large group and no one had anything bad to say. in large groups they had trouble allowing us to get a streak anything but medium rare but I'm the end they made an exception. Will be going back very soon.
