We arrived at the Comfort Inn and everything looked good until we check out our room.

The standard room that we were given was terrible, the room smelt musty and old.
I usually don’t complain about rooms, however the smell was so bad I decided to. We got moved up the hallway to another similar room, that smelt ok, but the TV didn’t work. So we moved again, this room smelt (worse than the first).
Reluctantly I went back again to speak to management, this time I asked to be upgraded to a better room (I was willing to pay).
Management was apologetic about the situation and upgraded the room free of charge.

I am happy to say that the room we ended up with was great (it even had a few more pay TV channels that the first).

Breakfast was included in the price, it was very basic. To ensure you get a choice, make sure you get in early!

If you are looking to use the free WiFi at this place, don't count on it, the signal strength was very weak, however there was a great (spyware free) pc near the front desk that was free to use!

“Not worth the price!”

When we arrived at check-in time our room was not ready. After we waited for 40 minutes we were given the ok to go to the room, only after we would supply a credit card (the room was free from choice club). The rug was dirty and the bed had springs coming through it. I stay in hotels around 50 times a year and this was by far one of the poorest I have stayed in. I usually stay in Comfort Inn style hotels so my comparison is just. The best part was the staff in the breakfast room. They had wonderful senses of humour and the food was ok, although not very fresh. If going to Ottawa again I would look at many other hotels before I would stay here again.

My wife, our 10 year old daughter and I stayed at this hotel for one night during a leisure visit to Ottawa. I booked the hotel through expedia.ca at CAD $87/night plus fees.

By my calculations, the hotel is approximately 4 km from the Parliament Hill, but on the same street (Montreal Ave. becomes Rideau, which becomes Wellington).
The room had everything we might need: TV, coffee maker, a bag of ground coffee, an alarm clock, telephone with free local calls, paper, pen etc. etc. The hotel has hi-speed wireless internet, but I didn't have a chance to check it out.

Our first-floor room needed to have curtains drawn, it made the room look rather dark. Indoor lighting, however, was sufficient. The bathroom was clean and functional, hair dryer included. Iron and board were also in place and ready.

My wife is very picky about cleanliness, but she couldn't find any major flaws in that department.

Breakfast was buffet-style and included toasts, croissants, muffins, jelly, jams, butter, very good orange juice, apple juice, tea and coffee. Microwave and toasters are there to use.

Parking was ample and free, even your visitors can park there.

Air conditioner was quiet and fully functional.

The one drawback that I could find, aside from the 1-st floor room being dark was that you walk right into the room from the street, there is no foyer of any sort.

Tim Hortons is just across the street, Esso gas station is next to the hotel, Vanier Parkway is right there, what more to expect from a budget accomodation. Staff were friendly, accessible and quick.
Overall, we are happy to have stayed at this hotel.

I was there on leisure travel. Room was not very big but comfortable. Good bed, everything worked fine. We found the staff to be friendly. It's not downtown (see other reviews) but the #2 bus runs directly downtown every 10 minutes, and the #3 bus is also nearby - go to OCTranspo's site for more info. We bought our bus tickets at the drugstore across the street which has everything else you might need. Breakfast was nothing special but nothing was wrong either. Overall, I felt that I got a good value.

spent a night in this hotel... in fact first time to stay in Ottawa... hotel was booked through Orbitz with tax everything was $100 + change consider as decent during the week of X'mas time.

during check-in the staff @ front desk was not able to make the key for our room due to some problem with the key card system... she wasn't that dumb but just technical problem made her looked like...

High-speed Internet... it's a joke... they advertised even on the outside big sign for *HIGH SPEED INTERNET* (photo shown) but in fact, that was just a Celeron 400MHz PC with 64MB ram and 16 colour video card PC putting in the lobby for guests to use... in the room, if you wanna get online, you must have your own dial-up Internet account to do so...

parking is ok quite large parking lot and really free of charge... of course first come first get basis...

typical Continental Breakfast served during the breakfast hours not big variety but ok for us...
