Great location for walking anywhere in the downtown area. The bed and resulting sleep really made this hotel experience great.

I stayed the last week in August. My agent purchased a package that included free breakfasat or tourist site passes. Front desk did not offer me the perks until I asked. I was there on business so chose the breakfast. Same buffet every day, never added anything different. For dinner the restaurant and room service was the same and very limited everyday. If they could offer at least something as a daily special it would be great. Maid service was adequant but by the last day, bed was not madeup properly and bathroom ws not cleaned and no tolietiers were replaced. I could here doors slamming till the early hours and had a hard time sleeping although the bed was very comfortable. I give it an ok. Main thing is they need to improve the Touleous Restaurant if they would like visitors to eat there nightly.

We stayed at the Marriott for 3 nights in August, 2007. I got a great deal through Priceline ($65/night). The hotel was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go, the room was adequate (clean but somewhat small) and the beds were very comfortable. The front desk and restaurant staff were very nice. The pool and kids area were a big hit with the kids.

This hotel was wonderful and very accomodating to our needs although we are not very demanding!

Loren at the front desk was amazing! He was kind enough to extend our check-out time as we had a last minute meeting booked and it truly helped us out - thanks so much Loren!

I had Tuesday off so I decided to be adventureous and take the public transit to the Museum of Science & Technology. The valet/conceirge on Tuesday morning was so helpful - he even printed out how to get there, which bus to take etc.

Our room is a standard executive but the linens on the King size bed were so comfortable as was the mattress. The room was very clean and since we drank the camomile tea the Monday evening, when we came back on Tuesday - the cleaning staff gave us extra (obviously very astute to the fact that since that's all we drank - we'd probably appreciate more than one package - very keen on details here). The bathroom was OK. Very clean but a little rough around the edges ALTHOUGH you have to remember...this is a hotel so there has to be a little wear and tear. I'm just being honest here - the bathroom didn't bother me one bit but since I'm writing a review...

We didn't have time to experience the pool or Merlot Restaurant.

The breakfast buffet (included in our rate as well as parking AND the Beaver Tail coupons!) was so scrumptous! They'll even make an omlette to order for you and the server was very nice and helpful (she even left the pot of coffee for me!). I have to specify by scrumptous I mean; lots of selection, nothing greasy - very delicious.

I do have to point out - we never had a problem with our room keys (at the Lord Elgin we had to get our room keys re-set at least once a day while we were there - not a huge inconvenience for me but for some of you this may be a concern).

Two restaurants we would very much recommend; Vittoria Trattoria in Byward Market. We go here everytime we're in Ottawa and have never been disappointed. NEW DISCOVERY! Saigon -

Like any place you go to visit - do a little research before you go and get a map - it will help you so much.
