“Spacious and comfy with breakfast buffet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

There was a Winterlude event happening in Ottawa during the Feb long weekend so we stayed here for 2 nights. It was a great experience staying at Hampton Inn and would recommend it to families with children as well as couples. We had a large bedroom that even had a kitchen sink/counter, small fridge and microwave provided, although we didn't find ourselves having to use it. There is good and bad about the location, however. It's a short 10 mins walk from the Via train station which was good for us since we came in from Toronto. But if you're looking to go to downtown Ottawa, you'll have to take a bus which can take around 30-40 mins. The other highlight for us at this hotel was the breakfast buffet, which offered a variety of hot food, cereals, waffles, drinks and fruits. There were large groups of families and children in the dining area when we were there, so there was a wait for a table. But overall, the food was plentiful and helped us get a good start to the day.

Room was bright and clean. Very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel is a little out of the way if you are wanting to be close to down town but this suited up perfectly. Hotel is also very close to the Via station (a very short cab ride.) I would stay at this hotel again.

I know that seems extreme but trust me I was very ill from eating at this resturant in the lobby - breakfast is a completely different deal. I was there for a dinner with two other people we all ate different items and all of us were sick. Not looking for fine dining but heck I should be getting sick.

When travelling for business the Hampton Inn on Coventry is the best value. The location is convenient, close to highways and the train station. The rooms are spacious and come with all the expected commodities. The staff is pleasant and a hot breakfast is included in the price of the room. I recommend the Hampton Inn to all Ottawa business visitors.

Room Tip: I always ask for a room away from the elevators on a high floor.

This hotel is extremely clean and rooms are well appointed, with extra sink, fridge, dressing area. The view is nothing special, but for a clean comfy place to lay your head, excellent. The breakfast selections are good and the staff are very friendly, ready to assist. Shopping very closeby and downtown is just a few minutes by car away. Train station across the street for Via travellers. Will stay here again when I am back.

This hotel is not the newest, but it is EXTREMELY clean. You could have eaten off the bathroom floors. No crappy fake quilt bed covers, they have duvets (which are washed between each client). We arrived 9pm in the evening and I didn't have any milk for my sons. The front desk clerk gave me a litre of milk from their fridge (free of charge). Pool and spa were clean and well maintained (lots of towels available). Lots of breakfast options (free), and two friendly staff to look after it. Actually all the staff at this hotel are very friendly. Indoor free parking.

I highly recommend this hotel!

The rooms are large and clean. They are equipped with a fridge, microwave and sink - all very useful when staying multiple evenings. The staff are always helpful and polite. There is always lots to choose from at the breakfast "buffet", though it does get a little repetitious when staying more than two nights. I also find the location quite convenient - close to the St-Laurent mall, hwy 17 and not to far from downtown.
