“Very Comfortable and excellent staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

I have been staying at this hotel for a few nights every month for the last 6-7 years. I find the employees to be exceptionaly friendly and great to deal with. The rooms are nice and big and the beds are very comfortable.

Breakfast is included and they have your standard Hampton Inn fare.

I have been encourgaged to start staying in the west end of town as that is were most of my meetings now take place but I have grown attached to the Hampton and the staff there.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

Spent 5 days here over the Canada Day weekend. Had stayed here 4 years ago and was very impressed. This time around I kept eyeballing the new Marriott next door and wondering if I should have stayed there instead.
What stood out about our stay was the strange smell on our entire floor. When we first got off the elevator, it smelled like a major natural gas leak. My wife thought that it was coming from the dryer units but it still smelled pretty bad. When we got to our room, it was fine but looked rather dark and uninviting. Very dark carpet and wallpaper. The room also had a smell of stinky doritios chips or something. We probably would have left but try finding a hotel on Canada Day weekend.
We settled in then went downstairs to their so-called restaurant/bar for dinner. We arrived well over 1/2 hour before closing but they were already shutting down. They told us they were cutting out early since they had no customers. They did take our order but it seemed as if we were being an inconvenience to them. We ended up just getting the food and heading up to our room to eat.
Breakfast was your typical Hampton fare of sausage, oatmeal and make it yourself waffles. It was very crowded (obviously due to the weekend) and the food rather bland. The hotel has underground parking and the spaces are limited. If you come in late, you may not find a space. Luckily for us, some of the cleaning staff flagged us over and let us park in a space that they usually park their laundry carts. That was very nice of them.
Overall, the hotel is ok for a day or 2 but I think I will be checking out the next door Marriott on our next trip to Ottawa.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn for a business trip and enjoyed it. The room was huge and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant for breakfast was excellent. The only complaint that I had was the air conditioning gave off a bit of a stale odour which was unpleasant.

The location was convenient for the meetings that I had in Ottawa, Gloucester and Kanata.

This is what one would expect from the Hampton inn ... Good quality... And more. Rooms were great size with little kitchenette and the beds are so comfortable. Check in staff were exceptional especially considering we were there on Canada day and the hotel was full. Love Hampton inns!!

This hotel has made our stay in Ottawa comfortable. The room is clean, the staff is nice, and the beds are wonderful. The ride to downtown is very short, ideal if you are planning on spending time downtown.

We came here for 2 nights from July 21-2012 until July 23-2012. Check in was a breeze and the front desk guy was very helpful, fast and just great. Room is awesome...huge bathroom and great room with a king size bed and kitchen with fridge and microwave was much appreciated. Down side is there is a huge kitchen cupboard area but no dishes, utensils etc. I can understand that but not even paper towels to wipe up water that condensed on the furniture from the ice bucket :( Also, no mention of room service in the hotel directory so the only way to find out what is offered is to travel up and down in the elevator where it is listed on the wall. No mention of hours etc so we ended up going up and down in the elevator to figure out what we wanted only to find out that there is no room service on weekends!!! Weird! Good points are indoor parking (however the door opened for us every time without having to put our room card in the machine...not good for security), great gym with Precor machines, indoor pool (too hot and humid in there for me though) and really nice room with free internet etc. I would stay here again though because the pros outweigh the cons and it is very conveniently located if you have a car. Downtown is literally 5 minutes away. Being from Montreal, we find it a little weird that restaurants close so early (at least on Sundays) but besides that, great hotel and room for the price.

Room Tip: Not much a view but besides that, no problem
