I will keep this short. Front desk guy was arrogant..very impoilte. Lost our reservation etc. But that isn't what i am complaining about.
We had spiders...small spiders that look like ants and that jump ..asked for another room...same deal..spiders ..left this hotel and it's dirty rooms and will NEVER go back again.
The manager says he wants to give us a complimentary weekend..is he kidding! Also says he wants to retrain his front desk and cleaning staff....come on now do you really think anyone believes you.
NEVER EVER AGAIN!

I had a wonderful two night stay. I was on the 12th floor of a two bedroom "traditional " suite. The hotel is attached to the Novtel and just a couple of blocks from the Marriott Courtyard. The hotel is one block from the mall (the mall is attached to the Westin Hotel and Conference Center), and is just a couple of blocks from marketplace. The hotel offered lots of space, modern kitchen and a wonderful shower. My room also had two full bathrooms.

Please keep in mind a couple of things when considering this property:
-The property is not in the best location if you are concerned about drunks, homeless, etc (Ottawa really needs to do something about this).
-The hotel is located about a 7-10 minute walk from the Hill and US Embassy.
-The pilliows and heating/ac are not the best
-When booking this hotel, make sure to ask for a renovated room, as not all rooms have modern and new equipment and fixtures.

All in all, nice people and a comfortable room in a good location if attending a conference. I would stay here again, and I would stay here over other extended stay hotels in Ottawa.

We have two boys (3 and 5) and find travelling in conventional hotel rooms to be difficult. One boy to bed at 7 PM, the other not until 8 PM, and no way for my wife and I to read or watch TV without disturbing the light sleepers! How annoying, and it really does cut down on enjoyable time in the evening for the adults!

So, we routinely look for hotels with suites, as they suit our needs more closely. Les Suites is a great place for people needing access to a larger space than most hotels, without breaking the bank.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom Premiere suite for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were spotlessly clean, well-stocked with nice toiletries/towels. The kitchen was also well-stocked and included everything necessary to cook simple meals (we didn't bother since there were so many great restaurants close by in the Byward Market). They even throw in dishwasher detergent and soap for washing dishes. A good-sized living room/dining room, and the bedrooms were also large. Two bathrooms too! In other words, we were living in a small apartment for the weekend. In fact, it appears as if Les Suites is housed in a converted apartment complex, but this is very tastefully done (it doesn't come off as cheap at all)...

So, when it came time for bed, kids off to sleep in their room (2 double beds and walk-in closet and bathroom), and the adults would be at the other end of the apartment watching TV. We could have the TV as loud as we wanted without worrying our kids would awaken. Fantastic! Then, we'd go to sleep in the other bedroom (queen bed).

Breakfast is fast, good, and easy in the cafe downstairs which is well-run.

The location of Les Suites is perfect. Close to everything in downtown Ottawa. We paid $229/night, and we had a deal that included parking and breakfast (through their website). I can see what others have to say about the proximity of the Men's Mission (right across the street), but if you above the 6th floor, I doubt you'd hear too much. Better is to get a room on the non-Mission side of the building (facing the rideau centre), and then you don't have to worry about it at all.

We will *definitely* be back to Les Suites. We were very happy with our stay.

We've stayed at Les Suite a number of times over a long period of time and the building is showing it's age compared to what it use to be. The elevators are slow and one morning it wouldn't let us out at the lobby. We didn't find the reception overly friendly or accomodating, but it was Winterlude weekend and the hotel was fully booked. Parking is over-priced at $60 for the four nights we were there. Our $300/night 2-bedroom suite was facing Waller St. and the Ottawa Mission where we could overlook police taking the odd individual away and there doesn't seem to be a lack of siren noise or rattling dumptrucks hitting the potholes. There was only enough hot water for one to shower our first morning and getting an internet connection was a hit and miss. The main feature of this hotel is its prime location which is a short walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The suite style hotel is ideal for families with kids, so don't expect a quiet swim during busy weekends. Probably won't go back because of the low value for price.
