“Great location, wonderful front desk, very tired rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

The hotel is in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, there was a lot of exterior construction going on so parking was not available. They said all would be finished in Sept when their own parking would be $12 for the day which will be fantastic! The rooms were very tired and dingy but were quite spacious and amenities of full kitchen were fantastic. The rates were very reasonable especially for its location so compromises on fancier room were worth it. Front desk couldn't do enough to make our stay in Ottawa memorable.

We recently spent 3 nights in Ottawa where we visited our grandson , and stayed at this hotel. The room was all you could ever want-a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, utensils, etc. Also the room had a little table with 2 chairs, a Queen sized bed, a pull out couch, a tub chair, flat screen TV, and a little walk in closet with a good size set of drawer for storage as well as 2 racks for hanging clothes. Also inclded was a good sized balcony where you were able to store your bikes. The situation of this hotel is great for easy walking to the parliament buildings, Byward Market, and other attractions. The only drawback could be the parking which was nonexistent when we were there because or renovations. We were fortunate enough to get free street parking on the weekend when we were there ( parking spots were very limited) However, there is a public parking lot across the street. The rooms were very clean and the staff most accommodating

****If you are an indian and planninf to trip with famly - you need a kitchen and more space in room - please go for it. I am very plesed with my stay here****

I have recently visited ottawa - admire people here. Truely loved the city of Ottawa. The embessy suites and Hotels in junction of cooper and cartier streets made my stay even more plesent.

I booked a room for three days and paid 90 for each night. The hotel room had a full kitchen equiped with stove, oven microwave and a big refrigerator. Most of all the Hotel room had a pretty good size balcony.

Here are the positive point -

1. Very friendly staff
2. Pretty good wifi
3. Good size room with balcony.
4. Fully equipped Kitchecn.
5. Awsome room service - They served unexpectedly faster andnever said NO for anything.
6. The lady who came to clean room cleaned-up all my used plated and bowls. I was amazed as never expected.
7. Very good location

Here are the Negative point -

1. The building from outside does not ook that great.
2. The rooms are old and did not look that classy. But not bad at all...
3. No parking was available - but it seems the parking was under construction.

Great location, friendly hotel reception staff, spacious and clean rooms. Check if the parking renovations are finished if you want to park in the hotel. I recommend it for travellers in a budget that want to be downtown.

We stayed here for three nights by end of June and found the Hotel a great place for families with bargain price. Kitchen facilities were good enough to prepare our own breakfast and late night snacks. Room was clean and good enough for my family of four with two teenagers. As regards its location, we just walked 15 minutes to the Parliament Hill early enough to watch the terrific guard changing ceremony. The Notre Dame Cathedral and Byward Market would be within 20 minutes walk. What a good place to stay and walk to attractions nearby. If you drive...,the story might be different.

We stayed one night at this hotel. I was ok with it being "tired" as it was clean. My first concern was the natural gas smell in the lobby. The front desk assurred us it was coming from their kitchen but 'it has been checked out and is safe". The second concern was the construction taking place at the hotel. The jack hammer started at 8am without warning. We were on the 3rd floor and it sounded like they were working in our room...brutal! It would have been nice to have been warned when booking this hotel that it is under construction and that the parking facilities would not be available and that the construction would start so early! Thank God that Ottawa has so much to see and do so we didn't linger at the hotel...won't be back!!

Check in was fine and the room was what I had expected for the price. Old but at least clean. Came to Ottawa on vacation. Staff was friendly. The first morning the construction began at 6:30am outside our window. Not just some construction , but jack hammering. We left for the day and when we came back at 3:30 they were still at it and we could not rest. Called to change rooms. The staff was very nice and commented that I my room is directly over the construction and they knew this was an issue. I asked if they knew this was an issue why they would put us in that room. We were told they would take $50 off per night. Then changed us to the 'executive suite' on the 10th floor. Very spacious and unpacked once again. At about 7:30pm heard a very loud humming noise. We actually thought it was an alarm. When we called the front desk we were told it was probably the air conditioning. Maintenance came up shortly afterwards to confirm that our room was right underneath the a/c unit and the noise would go away shortly. The noise subsided for about an hour and then came on again for the rest of the night. I went downstairs at 1:30am to see about changing rooms. The person at the desk told me he knows how terrible the noise is in that room (1009). He would give me another room, but we would need to pack up all of our stuff and move. My daughter was exhausted , we had groceries in the kitchen, clothes put away and they would not let us just sleep in another room without packing up all of our belongings.

Staff was trying to be very helpful. However, since the knew both rooms they gave us had terrible noise issues, why would they put customers in those rooms and not expect complaints???

Room Tip: Do not stay on the 10th or 11 th floors
