I've been staying at the Southway since 2006. Even when I have meetings downtown, I always move out to the Southway for the night before my flight. The free shuttle and proximity to shopping, restaurants and the airport make this a no-brainer. The customer service from Luis, Tony, Ray, Dan and the others at the front desk have, more recently, led me to stay here and drive into town for meetings: this is a bit of an oasis, a home away from home...now if only the housekeeping staff could make my bed at home:)

My organization has been using this hotel since the mid 70's and I personally have been exclusively using it for we'll over 10 years.
Most all of the hotel staff have been there since I began using the hotel over 10 years ago. They are friendly, helpful professional, efficient and obviously very experienced. It gives you that "Cheers" feeling..."where everybody knows your name".
The price and quality of food in the restaurant is top notch and in fact at times you may even need to make a reservation. It seems that people, other than hotel guests like to use this restraint.

I wouldn't use any other hotel for my business or personal needs!

I stayed here for five weeks while on training for a new job. The room was consistently clean and tidy and the housekeeping staff quite pleasant and friendly. The front desk staff were very helpful (particularly when assisting after I lost my truck keys in a snow covered parking lot) and looked after my requests quickly and effiiciently.

I found this hotel to be very quiet. I was there during the Ottawa Motorcycle Show and, a few weeks later, a hockey tournament. No problems at all.

I didn't use the restaurant or partake of the free continental breakfast (Tim Horton's right across the street), but I did use the pool, fitness centre and hot tub frequently.

A taxi ride into downtown is a bit expensive, but OC Transpo has several routes that stop at, or very near, the front doors. The hotel's airport shuttle is fast, free and very convenient.

The room had a good sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker which i used each day. There are three shopping malls and several restaurants within a few minutes walking for those who are inclined to buy and cook your own meals.

Overall, a very nice and quiet hotel that I'd stay at again.

Very nice hotel for overnight stays. Clean, up to date rooms with nice comfortable beds!
My hotel of choice when overnighting in Ottawa (close to airport and other amenities).
Friendly, helpful staff (front desk, cleaning, maintenance etc), and always have a smile for you.
