We stayed for 2 months in Feb/Mar 2012 as a couple and paid the governmental rate.
- Large and cozy rooms
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Two big flat screen TVs
- Quiet rooms
- Comfortable beds
- Nice & helpful staff
- Free access to fitness room & pool (both small but OK)
- Big plaza with various shops and restaurants downstairs
- Located in downtown Ottawa, only 5 min by foot to Parliament Hill, Bank Street (Shops, Hardmann's supermarket), 15 min to Rideau Centre (Shopping Mall) and Byward Market (Restaurants and Bars)
- Room service once a week only
- Internet access quite expansive if not included
- A bit outdated, could have been a bit cleaner
- 3 false fire alerts at night
Try pastry at Slater Market in the Minto plaza; buy sushi, bagels and more pastries at Hardmann's in Bank Street, have a beer at Chez Lucien at Byward Market or one of the local breweries, visit the German Shop in Albert Street
Drink coffee at 2nd Cup, stay in Ottawa for more than 1 week ;-)

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. It was terrific to read that you enjoyed our spacious, cozy suites, amenities, friendly staff, and fantastic location. Although I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your overall stay and would recommend Minto Suite Hotel, I am surprised that we did not meet all of your expectations. Our long stay suites are a little different from our short stay suites, as housekeeping services in long stay are offered on a weekly basis. As for our internet services, we do offer packages; hourly, daily or monthly. I apologize for the false fire alerts that you experienced during your stay, but at Minto Suite Hotel, we also want to follow all precautions to ensure our guests are safe. I will however follow up with our operations team regarding this comment. At Minto Suite Hotel, we pride ourselves on taking great care of our guests and offering an inspiring experience, and we believe this is what sets us apart from our competition. We look forward to another opportunity to host you in the future, at our Four Diamond property.
