So we moved into the area and needed food, we headed to the Wood, I have been here before for a quick lunch and it was okay. I guess the lunch hour can be manic, but for dinner, we really enjoyed the burgers and the pasta. I never usually order pasta in a pub nor do I expect much, but hell, this was decent. Try the tagliatelle or the wood burger.
The nice thing about the burgers is that they come with a lovely granary bun instead of the usual white bun. The bread is awesome, and the burger is the perfect thickness! Also we love that you get french fries and salad, so instead of the usual 'here's your burger and a heart attack of fries' you actually feel like you are having a meal instead of the usual burger and fries.
Service is decent but can take a while as they usually only have one person working the whole bar and restaurant, but overall it is fine.
Also their house wine is not bad, which quite frankly is rare these days. Who ever thought to start featuring 'partage or entre lacs' as their house wine anyway?
