About a thirty minute walk from downtown Ottawa (buses are available nearby) set in a beautiful area where the Governor General of Canada resides. The grounds are well taken care of and the residence is generally open for tours (closed for special events though). No photography is allowed inside the residence for security reasons but photography is allowed everywhere else. Tour guides will show you where trees have been placed by foreign dignitaries such as QEII, JFK and Nelson Mandela. Very beautiful relaxing place with benches to sit in and enjoy the 79 acre estate. I lucked out and was able to see the changing of the guard at the place.
