“Money Money Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

The Mint is fascinating. The Ottawa Mint is where the collectible coins are minted, along with the finest gold bullion in the world is produced for collection and investment. As fascinating as the tour is, oddly enough, the most memorable thing about your visit may be the gift shop. Almost anyone you meet who has toured the mint will tell you about the $1 million in gold bars that are sitting in a small display case in the gift shop, a mere pane of glass away from you.

“Adding Some Extra Knowledge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

It was a fun and informative tour, and money well spent. It is probably less visited compared to Parliament Hill and Rideau Canal, thus it’s less crowded, and definitely a good place for coin collectors.

“Very interesting tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

Lots of information given on tour, but too many people in the group made it difficult to hear tour guide or see what was happening on some occasions.

“Always a must.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

We only did the store this time and not the visit. We are coin collectors and it is always a pleasure to deal with the friendly and knowledgeable staff there.
The visit worth the few bucks that it costs. You will learn how coins are made, it is definitely a more complex process that you can imagine.

Get your ticket at the booth outside (get a zero $ ticket if you are only getting to the store).
