We stayed here in August of 2006 with our kids for the weekend. The pool was not open, the linens were gross, 1970 polyester spreads and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. Someone had recommended this hotel as great for kids. Well maybe for them, but for adults, stay at the marriot or anywhere else. The food was overpriced for the quality, the waterslide was fun for the kids but overwhelming loud and not enjoyable for parents. My vehicle was broken into in the hotel parking garage and no one saw a thing. We love ottowa but will never stay at this hotel again.

“Delta Ottawa is Great for Families”

Delta Ottawa Hotel and Suites

We go to Ottawa at least twice a year with our two children ages 8 and 10.

We have stayed at many different Ottawa hotels but find the Delta has the most to offer for the price.

We always stay in a King suite room which is about 700 square feet. The size of the room is great when travelling with kids.

I do not know what the regular rooms are like but the suites are very comfortable.

We love the quiet location near the Supreme Court.
Our kids love the indoor waterslide.

Our only complaint was that during our last visit the mattress in the queen sofa bed was a bit lumpy. However, it can still comfortably sleep one child.

The hotel provided us with a complimentary rollaway bed for our other child.

The restaurants in the hotel are a bit pricey but there are so many other choices just a short walk or drive away. As well, a few nearby restaurants deliver to the hotel.

Having a kitchen in the room is great especially for breakfast.
Bringing groceries from home for breakfast and snacks enables us to cut costs.

It is true that the wateslide operates on limited hours but it is easy to plan your day where you can visit the slide either in the morning or late afternnoon/early evening.

We usually go to the water slide and pool after a day at one of the museums. Then we order food to the room from a local chinese restaurant for dinner.

Overall, the service is great and the staff is friendly and courteous.

great location, near all the attractions. great staff, very friendly and helpful. Has large pool for family and water slide. Well equiped exercise room. We had a suite, nice size with all ammenities. The main problem is that the rooms are very dated and in need of an overhaul very soon.

“A Great Stay!”

Delta Ottawa Hotel and Suites

Our family and our friends' family stayed at the Delta Ottawa for our march break retreat. It actually turned out to be a great hotel! We got a suite, which were incredibly large and spacious. It felt like a condo! It was nice because the television/living room area was in a seperate room from the two bedrooms, so we could put the kids to bed and stay up without bothering them.

The hotel was a very short distance from many different attractions and restaurants, which was very nice because we got a lot of sightseeing in. The excercise centre was especially nice.

There were a few minor negative points, however. For one, the suites were located right beside the elevator shafts, and the noise from the elevators at night was a bit annoying. The restaurants that were actually in the hotel were a tad overpriced, and they didn't have a lot of selection.

The biggest letdown, however, had to be the pool. The actual swimming pool was nice, and it had a hot tub. But, one of the main reasons we chose the Delta in the first place was because it boasted a 'giant 2storey waterslide', supposedly the only hotel in downtown Ottawa where this was available. But, the waterslide turned out to be quite small, not very clean and closed half of the time. However, if you do happen to figure out when it's open, your kids should have fun on it nonetheless.

All in all, our family really enjoyed our stay at the Delta Ottawa and we would probably reccomend it to others. We had no real major issues, and hopefully you won't either.

“Nice stay”

Delta Ottawa Hotel and Suites

We stayed for 5 nights at the Delta Ottawa wit 2 small children and had a very pleasant stay. We were in a one-bedroom suite. We had a small kitchenette that was helpful, although no place close by to stock it. We were happy we had brought our own cereal, bread and peanut butter. The living room and bedroom were nice and the bed (king) was comfortable. The bathroom was a little small and dark and the shower didn't have much water pressure, but there were no significant problems.

The children's play area was very nice and stocked with crayons, coloring sheets, paint, toys, tv and videos, puzzles etc. Our kids really enjoyed it, although it was not staffed by the hotel. The water slide looked really fun, we didn't get to use it as our kids are too small. The biggest disappointment was that the pool wasclosed as they have a leak in the liner and need to have it repaired.

Ottawa is a beautiful city, and the location of the hotel is pretty close to the downtown attractions, we walked everywhere, but were definately tired at the end of each day. Make sure not to miss the Museum of Civilization if traveling with children, the children's museum there is amazing!
