Amazing hand-crafted carousels! Local artisans have carved, painted, polished and assembled the myriad of animals to make these carousels on the North Bay Waterfront a 'must' to see and a definite 'must' to ride! Volunteers man the ticket booth and run the carousels. I've been to many a country, but nowhere have I seen such carousels as these.
Now, that is not all. There are trains! These reduced-guage trains are both steam and diesel and built and maintained, again, by volunteers, and, like the carousels, often have more adults than children riding the rails.
A trip to, or through, North Bay in the summer is not complete unless a visit to the waterfront Train and Carousels is on the agenda.
For a neat meal experience, go across the road to The Boat, the old Chief Commanda, for a fun meal either indoors or out, right in the harbour.
