“Decent Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Not a bad hotel at all, furniture, carpeting, fixtures, etc., are quite new and bed was very comfortable. Little details were sometimes lacking, such as, batteries in thermostats (in both rooms) were failing, cordless phone wasn’t working (plugged into wrong outlet), internet was running about 1.3 mb/sec (usable, but should be 10x faster), they used silicone on the tub drain and didn’t remove excess (should have used plumber’s putty), no liners in waste baskets (maybe it’s environmentally better?), beer bottles outside the back exit for two days, front desk didn’t know how to retrieve messages on in-room phone when I enquired (dial 620)... nothing really horrible, but there is certainly room for improvement. I also enquired about the BW member perks (if any), and received my welcome basket (water and a sesame seed bar) as I was checking out.
They are still going through renovations and had a nice pool, but the hot tub isn’t finished yet. The restaurant, Farina & Fab, was decent, though we only had breakfast there (twice), and the lounge looked nice, but we didn’t visit while it was opened.
There are public beach access points across the street to the south or north, but the weather wasn’t cooperating, and I didn’t visit... maybe next time?

Room Tip: If you want a fridge and microwave you must get the single qeen bed room, not the king or double que...

Thank you Grant for the wonderful feedback, without guests comments we are not able to make all the changes required to become better. I will bring your comments to the team so that we can show that we "care and want to become the best place to stay".

We look forward to your return when are renovations are completed and the weather is better.

Stayed here for 4 nights for work. All the staff I met were very friendly (except the maintenance guy). I ate at the restaurant once and had great service and meal. A bus load of soccer kids arrived on my floor and the front desk was very accommodating in moving me to a quieter floor and wing. There were lot's of stores and restaurant choices nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed on May 7th going through and chose BW from past experience. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was amazing!! I had the mushroom ravioli and my husband had the spagetti and meatballs...The food was hot and very well presented. We also loved the complimentary olives, bread, and olive oil with balsamic vinegar....a very nice touch. Both staff from the restaurant and front desk were very friendly and receptive. We will stay here again!!

We had a pleasant experience with this place, since it had a comfy room and a nice restaurant. The lobby is huge, it has a swimming pool, heated of coarse, and jacuzzi, plus fitness room too.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. We only stayed a day back in January and our checkout time was 11am, but we asked the receptionist to let us stay until 1pm and she was so nice to us that we could even use the pool for a couple more hours. The outside temperature was -35c, so it was really great that we could plug our truck block heater to the front of our room to the outside plug. At the restaurant we had breakfast only, but it was plenty enough and delicious.
Our waitress was friendly and fast, our coffee cup never got empty. She deserves all the credit.
The pool area was looking old, but the size of the pool was great, the water temp. was warm and the jacuzzi was just perfect temperature wise. Coke machines were located in the hallway close to our room. The place got free WiFi with password provided by the front desk. Was easy to log on.The room were very clean got flat screen TV with cable.Anyway, we had very good time there , and we would suggest this place for anybody and if I go to North Bay again this would be my number one choice.Thank You Guys!

Room Tip: Main floor rooms more accessible.

The service was very good. I did request a quiet room at the end of a hall and was given the room right by the stairwell. It had constant traffic as there was no elevator in this facility. So a couple things to be aware of. Request a room further away, and if you have a lot of luggage or trouble with stairs, request a ground level room. The rooms themselves have been updated, and the beds are very comfortable. Best Western's seem to like the tiny pillows, which are okay, but not my favorite. If you like Italian, try the restaurant, it will not disappoint. Very delicious. The area itself is quite pretty being on the bay, and the people friendly. As far as cleanliness, the room was very clean. You will enjoy your rest here!

We were given a room across from the pool entrance and there was alot of traffic of people in and out.
It is a dog friendly hotel and they are everywhere.
There are two restaurants to choose from. The fine dining mediterranean looking one is way overpriced for what you get. The diner/cafe type one was more reasonable.
Easy access to the highway but about a 5 min drive. There is also a drive involved to dining options.

Thank you for your comments and feed back regarding our Newly Renovated Best Western North Bay, I have noted that we did not meet all of your expectations and look forward to your return when the final stage of our pool renovations are completed.

Yes we are a pet friendly locations in the city and welcome the whole family to enjoy our home away from home.

We only have one Retaurant Farina's and Fab Lounge which have been rated on Tripadvisor as one of the Top 10 in the area.

We are minutes to many wonderful attractions, shopping and restaurants.

Great service and customer focus. Excellent restaurant and conference facilities.
People who care about you. A nice respite - home away from home. Bit of a distance from other amenities but certainly enough on site activity.
