“Good breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

We only went for breakfast. We heard it recently changed name). The lunch/dinner menu did not appeal to us, although we did not try it.

However, we did have breakfast one day. The breakfast omelettes we had were good. It stated wild assorted mushrooms on the menu, but as far as we could tell there was only regular Cremini mushrooms. We found the omelettes expensive for what we got. There is a small terrace in the back with no view. Service was quick and friendly!

“A charming spot for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

While other restaurants along the main street of Niagara on the Lake had more charming and decorated facades, Andiamo's menu drew us in. The staff was all very helpful and friendly, from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. The manager made sure to check in on us throughout the meal. We ate on the outdoor patio, where the retractable roof was closed to create the perfect shady spot for a relaxing meal. The bruschetta, while not traditional or classic in its design, was delicious and very filling. My lobster cakes were well seasoned and accompanied by a refreshing, if simple, salad of greens. The waitress took awhile to refill our water glasses, but other than that she was very attentive and helpful. Our meal at Andiamo's was reasonably priced for the location, and overall we had a great experience.

“Someones Grumpy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

My husband and I tried Andiamo tonight and we were sadly disappointed. The waitresses were very welcoming and friendly. We were sitting at a table in the back corner of the patio next to a little fountain. The waitress was nice enough to turn it off for us since the water was spitting all over our table, plates and glasses. We ordered the bruschetta, vegetable ravioli and the parpadelle. The bruschetta was fine, but nothing special. The pastas were a big disappointment for us. The parpadelle has very little lamb and had a very weird taste about it. Too much nutmeg or something. The ravioli was definitely better but we still didn't enjoy it. Like the parpadelle, it had some sort of funky taste to it.

We decided to pay the bill and go to another restaurant completely. My husband talked to the manager (?) about the food and he was very hostile. He got very upset with my husband for 'insulting' his food after my husband said he would pay the complete bill but the food just didn't taste good to us. The manager did end up taking the entrees off the final bill. He also got upset that we asked for the fountain to be turned off despite the fact it would have sprayed dirty water into our food. He was very rude and added an awkward presence to the restaurant.

We are never planning on going back.

“Awful!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014 via mobile

The host (probably the owner, he seemed to be in charge), was less than friendly. We were seated at a dirty table, next to a dirty wall. The waitress was not very friendly. She was resistant when is asked if my 10 year old could have marinara on her ravioli instead of rosé sauce. (It's an Italian restaurant for goodness sake- there should be plenty of marinara to go around). She then gave us paper napkins when everyone else had cloth. My husband and I shared the sea bass. It tasted like dirty water. When we alerted the waitress, she seemed put out, but offered something else instead. We ordered the salmon, without the sauce. 2 minutes later, the host/owner/manager, came by with our plates in his hand, challenging our complaint, saying that we ate too much of the entree to complain about it. Once we told him that we shared and had each only taken 2 bites, he grumbled and walked away without any conversation, concern or apology. 20 minutes later, the salmon came out with the sauce all over it. The food, service and cleanliness were all awful. Save yourself time and money and stay away!

“OK spot for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

We called in for a quick lunch. I had a nice, but slightly dry, lamb burger which was topped with nice grilled red pepper and served with skin on fries and a very good coleslaw. My wife went for the five onion soup which was very nice. With a cider and a beer the price was more than we expected for what we consumed, but an OK experience.
