“We enjoy each visit more!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

I think this is our 20 th visit to Cecile's, and we appreciate it more every stay! From the welcoming and most gracious host Chris to the wonderful smell of the baking in the morning, Cecile's is our favorite place in our favorite get away spot. The home is spotless and maintained to perfection. We had some rain, so got to sit in the living room and enjoy a great afternoon of reading, visiting and sampling local wines. Cecile's is perfect. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your home and talents!

Classy, understated elegance, charm. These are a few descriptive words that come to mind for Cecile's House. On the interior the house is beautifully decorated. The rooms are cozy and the beds very comfortable. It has a lovely front porch looking out on a charming garden. After shopping, wine tasting, etc. it is nice to go back, relax on the porch, and listen to the gentle ripple of water from the garden fountain. Chris is a gracious host and provides a delicious breakfast, attending to every detail. (The croissants are my favorite). Staying at Cecile's we always go home having enjoyed a relaxing mini vacation. We love it and look forward to staying there for years to come.

Our family has been going to Niagara-on-the-Lake for 10 years now and have stayed at a variety of B & Bs until we stayed at Cecile's House at which point, we have been returning to Cecile's each year and already have reservations for next year. This B & B is tops in all areas - décor, breakfast, niceties, cleanliness, comfort, and location. It is elegant, but not pretentious so you feel comfortable and really enjoy your stay. We love the front porch and front sitting room where we enjoy relaxing and catching up with each other's lives. The location is also worth a special mention - we can easily walk to the plays, shopping, restaurants and pubs - had a lot of fun nights on the town! Thank you Chris!

Room Tip: All 3 rooms are lovely.

This was an important weekend for us.
Our daughter was getting married at Niagara on the Lake.
Cecile's House was an exceptional choice.
Chris provided great service and a fabulous breakfast.
Attention to detail was top of mind at this B&B.
The rooms were very well appointed and the beds were comfortable.
This will be on our list of places to stay next time we're in Niagara on the Lake.
Well done Chris!

I spent 2 nights this July (2013) in this elegant 1890's B & B- in the exquisite style of Parisian decor and charm. Chris is the most gracious host; his extraordinary culinary skills are impeccable and breakfast is homemade- croissants are so delicious you think you are in France or Quebec City.
He does not miss any details- from the soft music of the 40's in the background or the individual flowers on your white linen clad table. As you enter the white gate- a fountain exudes peace and tranquility as you relax blissfully on his beautiful patio.
Inside the period French furnishings, flowers, and paintings are stunning. My room was quiet and the home is only a few minutes away from the theatres. You can walk and leave your car there.

This is a charming "home away from home" and I have been coming to NOTL for over 25 years and it has to be the most comfortable and beautiful home I have stayed in. Chris' hospitality and graciousness makes you feel very welcome and valued as a guest.

Room Tip: My queen room was quiet and all of the rooms are on the second floor. My bathroom was down the hall...

It was our first time at Cecile's House. From the moment we walked through the garden gate through the tiny manicured front garden and past the fountain, and up the steps, where an assortment of stylish contemporary garden furniture is tastefully arranged for guests (there is a delightful garden in the back as well), we know that we were in for a treat.
Chris, the owner, welcomed us with a smile and it was evident, while showing us around and up to our room, that he took great pride in the house that has been so lovingly restored and decorated with impeccable taste and great attention to detail. An important aside: The entire house was immaculately clean!
We stayed four nights, and we were not disappointed. As a matter of fact, the spacious house, our room and the comfort exceeded our expectations. And, what is a B&B without a fabulous breakfast to start the day? It has to be experienced personally. To give a hint: When returning at night from a show or a dinner in town, the entrance will be fragrant from the baking for the next day. The breakfast was beautifully arranged, buffet style and fit for a gourmet photo magazine. Need we say more?
A well-deserved Travelers’ Choice Award 2013.
We shall return, for sure, and we will be highly recommending Cecile’s House to friends and acquaintances.

Room Tip: Our room (The French Room) was very quiet and we assume that the other two rooms are quiet as well.

After coming to this town for many years, this small, charming B&B is easily our favorite place to stay in Niagara On The Lake. It's in a nice quiet location but yet just steps away from Queen St. Chris is really a great host.
