“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2009

Stayed for 2 nights in the Golden Delicious room. Very nice room with electric fireplace and deep jacuzzii tub. The house was bulit in 1820 and since I love old houses I felt right at home. Owners are super sweet and gave us free tasting coupons and restaurant advice. We also had very interesting breakfast conversation.
Location is perfect and we got to hear the clopping of the carriage horses hooves from our room. Very nice stay and would recommend to friends.

Just 2 minutes walk from central Niagara on the lake. We stayed in the 'Granny Smith' room and although the smallest in the house, was pretty and well equipped - even had an ipod docking station. Free wi-fi access. Breakfast is served promptly at 9am with one sitting at a beautifully set table. Gail obviously loves preparing food as this comes across in the presentation of her food. Use of outdoor gazebo/seating area, subject to weather. A delightful change from chain hotels.

This home is charming and beautifully decorated inside and out. The bed and bath was very luxurious and the breakfast a gourmet treat. We are walkers and the location was excellent. The owners, Gail and Dave went out of their to make our stay the best it could possibly be. Many, many thanks. I give this my highest recommendation.

Our stay at the Appletree was great. The hosts, Gail and Dave, really make you feel comfortable and at home. We stayed in the Granny Smith room, which had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in (plus a canopy, which was a nice touch). The bathroom was new, large and clean.

The location is perfect for visiting the town, touring vineyards or taking the short drive to the Falls. It's on a quiet quaint street but still only 2 blocks to downtown and less than that to a great Irish pub. Plus we were given coupons for free tastings at some of the local wineries.

But the highlight of staying here was definitely the breakfast. Each day was a three course meal: fresh fruit, pastry/baked good and a hot entrée. The hosts were particularly attentive to my date's food allergy, and the food was out of this world.

We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area, and I highly recommend this place to anyone headed that way.

We loved this place, although we only stayed one night. The house is really pretty - it looks straight out of a picture book and is very conveniently situated for the centre of town. There is plenty of parking space at the house. Our room was beautfully decorated, comfortable & with a bathroom complete with jacuzzi! Gail is a lovely person, a great cook & very helpful. Our breakfast was just delicious, served in the elegant dining room. Anyone staying here will really enjoy themselves.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. Not only did our room look fabulous, but it was also extremely comfy and cozy and the bed linens were soooooo luxurious. We slept so well that night! There are only three rooms that are rented in this B& B and the downstairs parlor is shared with all of them. Free wi-fi internet access is available upon request. The downstairs parlor is very welcoming and there was a wonderful fireplace, but it was not lit as we were visiting during the summer. The furniture in the house is just exquisite and Gail and Dave, the host & hostess, are so very warm & welcoming. There is an outdoor sitting area that we enjoyed using to relax in after supper. The 3 course breakfast that Gail made us the following morning was superb...We had a bowl of fresh raspberries topped off with homemade whipped cream, followed by a homemade blueberry muffin and then Gail brought in a fabulous carmelized onion, mushroom and three cheese frittata that was out of this world. (and she graciously shared her recipe with me, too--Thank you, Gail!) The town of Niagara on the Lake is such a charming place too! There are tons of little shops to browse through, horse drawn carriage rides are available and Main Street is just so scenic--the landscaping downtown was superb! Gail, our innkeeper was also very helpful and informative. As we were planning to tour a local winery, she provided us with free tickets for the tour! We just had a fabulous time- Please note: There is NO FREE PARKING downtown. We were only there 10 minutes or so, and we noted a meter box up the road, and by the time we read the box and bought a ticket and went back to put it under the car windshield, our car had already been ticketed $20...so be sure to find a parking meter and feed it ASAP. Overall, this was a fabulous bed and breakfast and we would heartily recommend it to anyone. We are hoping to visit the area again in the future and will definitely be calling Gail for a reservation when we make our plans. I am uploading some photos of our room and the inn itself as I am a firm believer that a picture is worth more than a thousand words...

We spent 3 days here and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, breakfasts and company (both Gail and the other guests). The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, albeit a little small but the bed was very big! The air con was mercifully quiet which was fortunate as it was pretty hot while we were there. The B&B is very well situated - a short walk to many of the interesting parts but not right on the main street (although I cannot imagine any part of NOTL being very very rowdy!).
Gail genuinely wanted all her guests to enjoy their stays as much as possible and we felt like friends rather than customers.
