“Lovely Inn in Niagara on the Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Just returned from a lovely visit to the Riverbend Inn and Vineyard. What a charming place to stay! Linda at the front desk greeeted us and she couldn't have been more helpful. She made sure everything was just right. Our room on the second floor was clean and spacious with a romantic fireplace. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bed linens were immaculately crisp. Walking through the Inn left us feeling like we had stepped back in time.
Dinner at the restuarant was priceless since it overlooks the vineyard. Also, the food was delicious. I had the seafood risotto and my husband had the chicken wellington and both were just phenomenal. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return. It was an experience that we'll never forget.

Spent a few days in Niagara on the lake at the Riverbend Inn and Vineyard. Our room was very spacious, with two very comfortable queen size beds, a fireplace and cosy sitting area.
The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming particularly, Linda. The food was very good and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor and had views of the vineyard on all sides of our room.

Recently my wife and I stayed at the Riverbend Inn in Niagara on the Lake. Just minutes from almost everything Niagara, including great wine, you will not be disappointed.
The drive up, flanked by cascading trees and mature vineyards set the tone for what was to come.
A friendly, helpful greeting followed by wine sampling at the exquisite restaurant bar was enough to rinse off the drive from busy Toronto. You will enjoy the leisure setting in one of many Adirondack chairs overlooking the well manicured vineyards as staff brought our favorite wines.

The rooms are amazingly decorated in period setting, each with breathtaking views of local vineyards. We were fortunate to stay in the "kings" suite, which for most is larger than a downtown condo, not to mention a 200 sq ft balcony.

After a day of relaxation, dinner was exquisitely prepared. Staff allowed us to choose a special table for our occasion. The meal was prepared exactly to our liking and staff was courteous and unrushed. We followed up with an after dinner drink on the restaurant patio while star gazing into the midnight sky.

Check out was easy and courteous thanks to Linda. We cannot wait to return, thank you

Room Tip: Ask for the Kings room

We stayed at the hotel in Aug 2013 and here are the facts....
We paid $400 for the night, we got a room that was mouldy/mildewy, we didn't sleep well (mould makes it challenging), we were told that breakfast was to be included in the room - the hotel seemed to have changed their mind in the morning, we tried to have breakfast but their cook and server didn't show up so we had to wait until they arrived ... after all that we decided to leave as soon as we could get out of there. We communicated our disappointment to the front desk at the hotel and the person sheepishly told us to contact the manager and she immediately provided the email address (it almost seemed that she had practice doing this). We contacted the manager and she pretty much gave no respect to our concerns.

I've never written a review for ANY hotel in my life before, but, this experience so infuriated me that I thought it was only fair that no other unsuspecting traveler would have to endure our fate. Use this hotel at your own peril.

Room Tip: The room we stayed in had a horrible odour of mould/mildew. I would try another hotel.

It is quite startling to hear your feedback as we have yet to receive any other guest comments expressing your concerns. During the summer months our Inn is busy and rooms are generally occupied daily. As we do value and consider all comments from our guests, we have since investigated each of our guestrooms and have not been able to detect any issues.

We are a 21 room Inn and do not operate as a bed and breakfast. Although we have a selection of summer packages that include other offerings in addition to breakfast, they are offered at a higher price point than your room rate.

We do thank you for taking the time to share your comments.

We just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay at the hotel. On arrival, we were greeted so warmly by Linda at the front desk. She was so informative of all there was to do in the area. Our room was amazing. So large and spacious with beautiful views of the vineyards. The fireplace added such a warm ambiance. Our King size bed was so inviting and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and very clean. The dining room staff, Anna and Jonna were so friendly. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious and our dinner was 5 star!!! We will definitely return there, location was great, close to everything. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!!

Room Tip: Second floor looking out over the vineyards.

My husband and I wanted a little getaway for our anniversary and a friend suggested this place. From the moment you walk in to the beautiful foyer with the huge crystal chandelier and very large oil paintings handing on the walls, you feel the old world charm. Our room was so beautiful! I loved the furniture and the fireplace was amazing. The washroom was updated and very clean, actually everything was very clean. The window seats overlooking the grounds were very enjoyable. The beds and pillows were very comfy and the room was pretty large! We had dinner at the in house restaurant and it will go down as one of the most memorable meals we've had....comparable to our meal in Vegas at Mario Batalli's restaurant. It was a very short drive to town with lovely little shops etc. We also enjoyed going for some wine tastings and tours provided free by the hotel! Honestly it was a wonderful stay...my only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer ;)

With nice warm days, pleasant brisk evenings, the Riverbend Inn offered a most comfortable facility. The room was spacious, attractive and clean with two queen beds and plenty of pillows & covers. The fireplace gives added warmth on the brisk evenings or early morning. As RickW558 pointed out, a small stand in the bathroom for the little stuff would be helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of well prepared & ample size portions. Dinner was quite good and the wait staff most accommodating.

If you have never visited Niagara on the Lake, you have a treat in store. Be it the theater, the winery's, the restaurants or just the most charming village around - it is a must to visit.

Room Tip: Put your trust in the hotel staff.
