I took my fiance` to Applewood for a little birthday getaway. We drove up from Cleveland after seeing nothing but positive reviews on this site. The home itself is very inviting, right off a back country road, it was exactly how I pictured it from the photos provided. The downtown area was roughly a 5-10 minute drive. The house itself has two available rooms that share a main kitchen and entrance. Nobody was staying in the other room when we were there so we had the whole wing to ourself. The room was spotless and was a very nice size. Main area, fireplace, and bathroom are on the lower level. You will then find steps leading up to the bedroom loft area. The one and only thing we didn't care for was that there was not a television downstairs in the main area. This meant watching tv from the bed only. It would have been nice to sit on the couch by the fireplace and pop in a movie.

Each room has a sliding glass door that leads to a deck and backs up to a very large forest. We took a stroll into the woods and across a stream and located the old family cemetery that Jane had told us about.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing. By far and away, the best breakfast I have ever had. Jane asked us when we would like breakfast and it was hot out of the oven right on time.

Overall, this was a great place to stay. We plan on going back, but hopefully for a longer trip.

We're about to spend our 7th stay at Applewood Hollow. We've been coming for 5 years, and this past January I proposed to my fiancee in the Sumac room. That should say alot about our love for Jane and her family's hospitality. What a unique B&B experience that fills our dreams between visits. Sumptious breakfasts, great connversation, and pure relaxation. year after year we return to our little slice of heaven, and year after year we get exactly what we came for - a cleansing of the mind and soul. Okay, perhaps I'm venturing too far on the esoteric side, but it's true - we come back from our visits to AWH feeling rested, relaxed and rejuvenated.

If you're looking for a great relaxing B&B experience, you've found it. We've returned year after year, and we'll be coming back year after year to come.

We'll be adding some photos from our recent trips in the near future.

We couldn't have chosen a better time of the year to visit. Jane & Bryan's hospitality was awesome. They have a cute dog who is very friendly. Jane and Bryan were very courteous of our needs and respectful of our privacy. Each morning we were served a nice, hot, fresh breakfast featuring the town's finest fruits. The location of Applewood Hollow couldn't have been better, we were close to everything, yet far enough away to be in a peaceful spot. The nice thing about Jane & Bryan's is that we had a separate entrance so we never had to disturb them coming or going. The place was very clean and nicely designed. The surroundings were gorgeous. Jane cares a lot for the appearance of her bed & breakfast. Every flower planted was so pretty and specially cared for. We will definately be back next year!!! A great choice for a bed & breakfast in Niagara On The Lake. There's nothing negative to say. I'd 100% recommend Applewood Hollow anyone else.

Applewood Hollow is amazing, beautiful, romantic, wonderful, etc., etc. etc. Our biggest regret is that we only stayed for one night. We decided to take a detour on a trip to visit friends in Toronto and spend one night in NOTL. My husband chose Applewood Hollow based on the photos and after speaking to Jane on the phone. He made an excellent choice!! The rooms are wonderful, and spacious. We loved that it was modern and updated yet still felt extremely warm and cozy. Jane and Brian are wonderful hosts and full of great recommendations. The garden is beautiful and the location is close to everything. We definitely plan on going back with another couple for a few nights.

NOTL is unique. These lodgings are serene. The artwork is original. The breakfasts are spectacular. The innkeepers are masterful. The pursuable interests on this property include: local area history, birdwatching, the wealth of Niagara wineries, the Shaw Festival, many varied nearby field trips, introspection and relaxation, the leading edge of Canadian popular music and musicians, and more. Handy access to the NOTL public library puts daily computer access less than a 5 minute drive. Highly recommended B&B.
