“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

I've taken advantage of tripadvisor for years but this is my first review! We recently visited Britaly B&B for an early winter get-away from the city. Everything was outstanding. The hosts, Aldo and Graham, were extremely friendly, charming and fun to talk to. The dog, rufus, was cute as a button and really added to our experience. They are definitely in the right business! We took their recommendation for lunch the next day and it was an amazing place!

The B&B is in a great location and very close to all the wineries. We booked the Canadiana room but our hosts upgraded us to the English room which was a very nice surprise. The house is beautifully decorated and a perfect combination of style, comfort, and charm.

We loved the breakfast!! Our coffee cups were never empty and I was stuffed after all three courses. The muffins were freshly baked out of the oven!

We really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this place. Book directly with them! Their website was easy to use. I can't wait to return one day!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful! They are all on the second floor.

Hello again Amy and Henry,
Thank you so much for your fantastic review and all the nice things you said about us. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity of hosting you in our home and hope that you will return again. This business is a two way street and if we were to review you as guests, then you would be a full five stars.

Best wishes
Your Hosts

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast, with great hosts and very comfortable rooms. We stayed at Britaly in mid-October and we stayed in the English room. The English room was a beautifully decorated, charming room with an ensuite. We were also able to briefly see the other rooms and they were excellent as well. Aldo and Graham provided us with a great breakfast each morning with more than enough food, coffee and juice. We truly enjoyed the Eggs in a Cloud dish. We plan on trying the recipe at home but I don't think we can replicate Aldo's cooking. We enjoyed chatting with Aldo, Graham and the other guests each morning as each guest was from a different country, which brought out some interesting discussions. Britaly is ideally located in NOTL since it is close to shopping, wine estates, hiking trails, restaurants, and of course Lake Ontario. We attended a wine tour at Peller Estates and enjoyed the tour very much. We highly recommend Britaly and look forward to another visit next year! Thank you Aldo, Graham and Marcus!

Each of the three rooms were terrific. Stayed in the Canadiana, but viewed each of the three. Meticulously clean, superbly decorated, intelligently laid out, with each room possessed of their own unique charm. The entire house is warm and comfortable, with the decor keeping an eye on the past through fantastic works of art and furniture, but with excellent modern comforts found throughout. The beds are all large and the Canadiana's (Queen) was very comfortable, with pillows to spare. The owners, Graham and Aldo (and Marcus of course) are very charming and courteous. You will feel like a welcome guest, treated to the BEST breakfast we've had in NOTL. Anywhere! Graham is a superb cook (have the muffins!) and breakfast is an event unto itself. I could not finish it all, try as I might. We were treated to some music (78s) on antique and vintage phonographs/grammophones and we enjoyed Marcus' attention very much. We look forward to our return. The location is about a 25-30 minute walk to the old section of NOTL, but it is about an $8-$10 taxi. It is a great walk, as there are some magnificent estates to see along the way, and it is just next door to the Peller Winery. I rate it higher due to its location, as you are assured to have a relaxing sleep and stay. Due to the weather, we couldn't enjoy the backyard, however it looks to be a great place to read or unwind during the warmer seasons. Value varies with each of us, however no matter one's measure of it, you will find it here.

Thank you Craig and Nikki for an incredibly wonderful review. We sincerely enjoyed having you stay with us this past weekend. It is not often that people share my love of old phonographs and it was a great opportunity for me to play some of my treasured antique records for people who appreciate them as much as I do. We already feel that you are old friends and we hope that you will come again before too long.

Thanks again.

As previous guests have said so succinctly, this is a wonderful B & B with perfect hosts who genuinely enjoy meeting people. We were made to feel very welcome in a lovely home. Every comfort is afforded to you - clean comfortable beds with everything available that you would find in a top class hotel. We were upgraded at no extra cost as were our travelling companions. All rooms are of equal high standards and attention to detail is paramount from our warm welcome to the generous breakfast and our fond farewells. Our only complaint is that we stayed for 1 night and it should have been longer - next time we will extend our stay - many thanks to a great interesting couple Graham and Aldo, would have liked to get to know you better.

We have just returned from our eighth annual visit to Britaly and booked again for next year. It is the one constant in our busy lives - and what a magical one it is. You could not find two more perfect hosts than Graham and Aldo. They are warm, discreet, highly informed, interesting and totally charming. Everything about the home is tasteful, sophisticated yet totally comfortable - the furnishings, the art, the scrumptious freshly made breakfasts, the early morning coffee, the conversation. Every detail is carefully thought out and the result is a delightful anticipation and most pleasurable realization of each experience. One relaxes as soon as one walks in the door and that blissful sense of elation lasts well past the farewell.

Thank you again and again Graham and Aldo for a unique and totally special experience.

We just returned from a wonderful, relaxing stay at Britaly. Our room, the English room, had a very comfortable sofa, fireplace and an ensuite bathroom. Having coffee delivered outside our room at 7AM was a special treat. In the morning, breakfast was served promptly at 845.. The table was set with juice, homemade granola, fresh fruit and yogurt. That was breakfast enough but it was only the beginning. Next came a huge homemade muffin (mine was topped with a candle for my birthday). Our "main course" was a cloud of egg whites on French toast, a very unique dish. Aldo and Graham were wonderful hosts, thinking of every detail to make our stay memorable. We will recommend and return.

Room Tip: The English room had a lovely view of the garden. In warm weather I imagine it would be nice to sit...

Thank-you Aldo and Graham (& Marcus) for a most relaxing stay at your beautiful B&B! This B&B is clean, close to downtown NOLT, quiet and beautiful. Dan and I booked the Canadian Room and even though we were MORE than pleased with the room, Aldo and Graham offered us to stay in the bigger English room (with it's own ensuite bathroom) as it was available for the night! Aldo was so sweet! Right away he asked about our plans and offered us a map of the area and gave us some great recommendations of where to go for a walk, eat and drink! Graham was a great chef! The morning breakfast was sooooo yummy! We especially enjoyed the cloud of egg white on our delicious French toast! The homemade muffins and granola were a delight! And the morning tea and coffee, left outside our room to enjoy at our leisure in the early morning, was a special touch! We have nothing but amazing things to say about this B&B. Thank-you again! Dan and El :)
